    Sunday-India Today!

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Spice Bath Soap
    Soap: Godrej Lime Cream-India
    Razor: RazoRock Jaws OC-India
    Blade: Super-Max Super Stainless-India
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Shulton Old Spice-India

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

Off to India today! I used the Godrej Lime Cream. It lathers easily and is good and slick with a great lime scent. I also decided to try my first Indian Super-Max Super Stainless blade (thanks Santa). I dropped it in my Indian made RazoRock Jaws OC and went to town. The Jaws and the Super-Max SS did great together: smooth, close, nick & burn free shave. I finished with some Original Shulton Old Spice, also from India.

Very impressed with the first shave using the Super-Max Super Stainless.

@Bobcat: I have the Lime Fresh too. Smells really nice. Not tested it since now. But i will next summer.:) And a nice Razor. Is it more on the aggressive or on the mild side?

I was interested in the past in the RazoRock razor line. How is the finish quality compared to Merkur/Muhle/Edwin Jagger ?

They are the Cadet's re-branded. The fit and finish on mine is excellent.

The Jaws OC does not seem too aggressive to me. Maybe close to my Gillette Red Tip or Slim on "6"? Great shaves.

    SUNDAY
International shave: USA, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, France, Japan

Pre: Hot shower, SheaMoisture Scrub, Homemade Cedarwood PSC
    Razor: Mühle R41 Grande (2011)
    Blade: Feather Stainless (1)
    Brush: Omega 626 Silvertip
    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Shave: two pass, plus touch up
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Homemade Bay Rum

'Shave Holiday' yesterday (thanks to the über-closeness of the Mühle on Friday); Another close one today. The Good & the Bad: The Good— an extremely close, comfortable shave leaving me with a smooth, baby face all day; the Bad—no need for a shave the following day…:( Because I enjoy my morning shaves so much and look forward to them each morning, going without one seems as if I'm missing something in my routine. I will probably still shave tomorrow as I need the practice with the straight razor.

I had to Go Green and White this morning to honor my Alma Matter's American college football championship!

Prep: warm shower, Shea moisture scrub, Proraso Green PSC
    Cream: Proraso Green
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard MR10
    Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow
Post: Alum block, Proraso Liquida Dopobarba
    AS: Proraso Lozione Dopobarba

My face feels good now, but I got a few weepers from trying j-hooking... I'm not ready for that yet. I think maybe I was going a bit too fast overall as well. Live and learn.

    Sunday:

Prep: Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, Hot compress, Crown Shaving Co. Preshave lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Cream: Speick (German made)
Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 Open Comb (German made)
Blade: Bolzano Superinox (German made), day 3
    Passes: WTG, XTG (6, 7)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash
Cologne: Pegasus by Parfums de Marly

The only issue with the BBS shave I got yesterday was that it made 3 passes today overkill. This, in turn, meant I washed at least two passes worth of wonderful Speick lather down the drain after two passes proved more than sufficient to produce a DFS+ result. I experimented a bit more with skin-stretching techniques to try to get the appearance of stubble minimized, since my combination of dark hair and light skin can make stubble show through even if I can't get any closer with the razor. We'll see if it delays the shadow. Tomorrow, it's back to the FaTip and soaps.

    Sunday

Zolo Coffee Roasters Farmhouse French roast, brewed in Areopress
    CeraVe foaming facial cleanser
    Petal Pusher Fancies unscented soap
Burma Shave brush with TGN synthetic knot
    EJ DE89
    Astra SP blade
    Cold rinse
    Cerave lotion

First off, a great cup of coffee, thanks to my TSD Secret Santa in northern California!

I had a two day stubble, so I was careful with my prep, washing my face well with the CeraVe cleanser and rinsing well with several splashes of hot water. I like to do a final cold rinse to tighten up my face after all the hot water. The Burma Shave brush has a smaller knot than I usually use, so lathering took a bit longer, but the Petal Pusher soap did well. Then three passes with a new Astra blade. Very comfortable, smooth results. Finished off with CeraVe lotion to prepare for the cold outside (about 20°F).

This was the coldest shave I ever had since I'm alive.

    Prep:

    Hot shower
Two hot towels and a facial massage
Gatsby Ice Cooling Facial Wash :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Sterling Glacial SS :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Visal AS Gel :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

I never realized there was anything cream or soap-wise that was stronger in menthol power than Iced Subzero, but this Sterling Glacial is definitely the strongest mentholated soap I ever experienced in the 45 years that I'm shaving. Its menthol effect is so potent that the freeze begins as soon as your brush makes contact with your face and gets stronger and stronger minute by minute. The lather is a challenge to create, but if you're patient you'll get a good and workable lather that will be very slick, moisturizing, and protective with excellent blade glide. The Visal gel is another great face-freezer which smells nice and leaves the skin very smooth and supple, and that Rubby Dubby Doo is in a class by itself when it comes to a mentholated aftershave. I don't think I could have enjoyed this shave more. A special shout-out to my dear friend Ryan! ;) :D

It's definately a Bay Rum day. The world outside is solid white and the temp is 1F which is a lot less than normal for these parts. Great day to watch the NFL games and feel the warm scented glow of the VIBR. Have a great weekend Gentlemen! :eatdrink047:

    Prep: Warm shower, Cornhuskers Lotion
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Voskhod (2)
    Cream: Arko Ice Mint
    Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair 12705
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cornhuskers Lotion
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

Yesterday's shave was so good, the only thing I changed was the aftershave. I had another great shave today and was BBS except in my trouble spot under my right jawline. It's not nearly as cold here as most of you are experiencing, but it's rainy, too. It's a great day for football. Go Falcons! (I know that they are not doing well this year, but I'm a lifelong fan.)

    Have a great day!

    Sunday

Hot shower, face washed with Matas face wash.
Mühle R89 coupled with Eddison Stainless (2).
Speick grated soap whipped with Semogue 1520 boar in Steve Woodhead mug.
3 passes (WTG/XTG/XTG) followed by luke rinse.
Ajanta alum applied for a minute, then rinsed of with cold water. Finished off with Nivea for Men Sensitive after shave balm.

No fan of the Eddison blade. It feels the same as the Royal blade, which I didn't fancy either. Too rough, but it got the job done. I'm almost through all my sample blades. Next up is the Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus blade - the last of my samples.

    hot shower
    Homemade PSO
    Gillette FatBoy 2 passes (7)
    Personna Lab Blue (3)
    VDH boar
Coate's Superior Tea Tree cream in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with Aloe
    alum
    Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve AS

Another busy holiday event day so same as yesterday, 2 passes only and no blood on the dress shirt. Tried another different blade in the FatBoy so I kept it back a couple notches from full bore. Now about the shave cream. I picked up a tube of this stuff last time I visited Maggard Razors and found out this is old stock that's no longer in production. I really wrestled today with whether or not I would say anything about my experience (since availability is limited) and I won't go on and on because I understand the whole YMMV thing, personal preference, blah blah blah. I ordered 5 more tubes just now before I posted this message. There, I did it. Nobody can say I didn't share the fact that this stuff is awesome IMHO and if SWMBO would let me I'd order a case of it. There's a good reason the word "superior" appears in the product name.
