My parents emigrated from Western Ukraine to Israel where I was born, after the 2nd world war. German and Russian however, were the main the languages we spoke at home along with Hebrew. Even today, I speak to my parents a LOT in German. Whenever I travel to Germany on business, it's difficult for me to convince people that I'm not German by birth and that I never lived in the country. I get the same reaction when I travel to Russia. When Russians hear me speaking Russian they ask, "which city are you from?" When I tell them, "I'm from Haifa, Israel" they freak out!

 

You should try the Egyptian version of Ingram. It's somewhat colder than the British one.

Even the older version of Proraso Green cream is very good, although I must admit that I prefer the newer one. It still lathers richly and is perfectly stable. Its cooling sensation seems to be slightly less evident than in the newer formulation, but it's still stronger than strong enough. The Svoboda balm and the Barbon aftershave made the end of this great shave feel delightful!

A little bit rushed again this morning, but I did not let it affect my shave. My lather was a tad wet on the first pass, but easily fixed.

I'm still enjoying the Astra SP blades, always a smooth shave with no irritation.

 

Coming from a colder climate, menthol as a part of my shave never seemed like a good idea. The last week or so with the temperature drop and snow, I find myself wanting to try some menthol.

The Col. Conk Bay Rum soap, face-lathered with the Parker pure badger brush, provided the necessary cushion and slickness for two passes and some touch-ups on the neck. The GEM MMBT easily removed the whiskers leaving me with a near BBS shave. Finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. Now I am clean and refreshed. I will be setting aside the MMBT for my Gillette fat-handled tech tomorrow. ​

Serbia was the destination today. I slipped a Serbian MEM blade in my Slim and lathered up with the Serbian Palmira Cream. I got a good close shave with no nicks or burn. I finished up with the Serbian AL After Shave Cream. It contains Vitamin E and Aloe Vera and left my face feeling “good enough to touch”.

Thanks to “Santa” for giving me the opportunity to try some Serbian products that we can’t get in the States.

This was my first time using the popular 7 O'clock Yellow and it produced a near BBS shave. It wasn't quite a comfortable as the Voskhod, but still very nice.
