It’s unbelievable how awesome Fernando’s soaps are - his Peppermint Latte is tallow based and it’s scent is so beautiful - an exotic blend of espresso coffee and peppermint, the lather is so thick, rich, slick and protective, the menthol sensation is really strong especially during the second and third passes, not to mention how great the skincare is. The Prep became my favourite balm because of its nice medicinal scent and wonderful soothing performance while the Peppermint Latte aftershave smells as delightful as the soap and the menthol sensation can give a polar bear pneumonia. This stuff is witch hazel based so there’s no burning or stinging. Smooth as silk from three fun filled passes!

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. The first pass was with the TiBr Wabbit by Tom with a Personna blade. Second pass and touch ups with the 47 Gillette Aristocrat Razor with a Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Fine shave this morning, using mostly Stoylin products. I had Ramblin Man soap and A.S. and the Pro-Handle brush. Again, I didn't time the loading procedure-just seemed to me the focus should he on the loading itself. 1st pass went well-all areas covered with a fine-tooth..well, "razor". 2nd resulted in a cut in South Porcupine Alley (chin area). Not terrible. Also an embarrassing miss at the right side of North Porcupine (area just below the nose), which I didn't notice until breakfast. I immediately went into the bathroom to shave it off with warm water. Cactus Nation(neck)was a success. This one gets a Super Duper Excellent. Ramblin Man is Doc Ezlovan's clone of a cologne the name of which escapes me.

 

I wish The Grandpa's Soap Co. could make a deodorant soap.

DE SOTD, Sat, Dec 18th 2021

Razor: Yaqi new stainless steel head with the Razzo rocket handle- Mfg 2021, upper mid range, Interesting razor, machined finish, not perfectly machined but it still gets the job done.
Blade: Gillette Astra SP (2) Sharp & smooth with great longevity.
Soap: Tabac, mild flowery clean scent, excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 22 mm 2 band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrub, great painter, not a lather hog. Small handle but it performed excellent on 1st use.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock American barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturising lotion(balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS, DFS,BBS + no irritation + 2 weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi stainless steel head with Yaqi Rocket handle + a Gillette Astra SP blade.
