Thanks Gary, that it is a new one that Yaqi is testing in the market. It sort of a proto type Yaqi promotes and they do a small batch and see what happens. Yaqi recently has been experimenting into the stainless steel heads and they have a few more. Yaqi QC could use some improvements IMO.

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Sea Salt & Fennel Extract 2 in1 Shower Gel.
Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Soap.
Brush: Chinese unbranded horsehair.
Face Lather.
Lather: Haslinger Schafmilch & Lanolin Shaving Soap.
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond Titanium. (2)
Razor: Merkur 37c.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Brut Attraction Totale ASL./Wilko Men's ASB.

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

The Mekur 37c performed wonderfully paired together with the Super Max Blue Diamond Titanium blade mowing through my remaining stubble with effortless ease.

Another comfortable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report....Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Wilko Men's ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

I would bet money that the bath soap would sub as a usable shaving soap. The lather feels slick and protective.

**EDIT - 2 pass + spot touch up. Textbook perfect shave. Excellent post-shave feel. Smooth and no irritation. I brought out the old Dave Ocean razor that is slowly losing its fake gold coating inside the blade area. It shaves well but I don't think it's going to last more than maybe a year or two more before hitting the trashcan. A shame because I like how it shaves. The Bigelow Bay Rum is a fantastic cold weather scent. I'm enjoying it along with the light wisps of the Ogallala and Gabels Bay Rums layered underneath. Aside from Old Spice, Bay Rum, in general is my next most used scent profile. Love the stuff.

 

SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 19, 2021

The new Kravchenko 7/8 delivered a much closer shave than I realized yesterday. There wasn’t much facial stubble this morning. One and a half ATG passes pretty much cleared the decks. The new razor feels really good in hand. The pinch grip is just the ticket for these old arthritic fingers. The shave angle seems a smidge steeper, but I certainly can’t complain about the edge Yurii built. I could have easily gotten away without stropping after yesterday’s mug shave. The razor sailed through the styrofoam peanut test as easily after the shave as it did before, but maintenance is maintenance, so I stropped it anyway, and as my friend, Hans says, was left “smooth as a peach” afterwards.

There is one safety razor in my den that hasn’t seen any use for almost two years, my French Spadson. This razor was designed with a mild side and an aggressive side. I’ve always struggled with this razor, and discovered that the issue was its handle. This morning I switched out the Spadson handle for a Famex handle, and realized that the old handle never closed sufficiently to clamp the blade. I used to describe the razor as “assaultive”, not aggressive, but now realize I’d been shaving with an insufficiently clamped head. The two ATG noggin passes this morning were a breeze with the head properly sealed, leaving me cool, clean and velveteen from shoulders to dome.

My oh my this Vintage Spice soap……wow!!!!!!! Fernando created such a treasure - the scent is 100% the same as the original Shulton Old Spice - I think it smells so beautiful, it’s tallow based so the lather is so thick, rich, as well as slick, and the skincare is even better than the Old Spice soap. The Bull Dog moisturizer gave me terrific soothing, and needless to say the Vintage Spice aftershave has the identical gorgeous scent as the soap and because it’s witch hazel based it has no stinging or burning - just a wonderful comfortable feeling. Another tip top three pass BBS shave that was so pleasurable!
