That's an extreme slant. How's the shave and, more importantly, does it shave you better than a traditional DE

 

I've always loved slants. I learned to shave with a Merkur slant that I still have. I've tried a few since, the best of which was the amazing RazoRock Wunderbar. It was more efficient than most of my DEs, but just a tad too aggressive, if I wasn't careful. I find the Superslant L2 to be just as efficient and much smoother. YMMV

Razor : Ever-Ready 2nd Generation Streamline- Mfg 1949-53, mid> upper mid range, well built to last, blade forward to blade stops from front edge of Safety bar, Once a person figures it out how to use it gives a stellar shave IMO. Beautiful ASR razor!
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (10) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : La Toja stick, very mild different scent(hard to describe, not annoying but nothing unique) with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Robin" 24mm boar bristle, excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, very nice splay scrubber, great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Green splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs+ no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Ever-Ready Streamline 2nd Gen with a coated Gem blade.

Brush: Omega 11137.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Scottish Fine Shaving Soap.
Blade: Super-Max Super Platinum. (D1)
Razor: Parker Variant. (Settings) 2.5-wtg,2.5-xtg,3-atg+pick-ups.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse/Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. / Calvin Klein Eternity For Men ASL. /Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

The vast majority of my shave set ups are very in-expensive, today proved to me that i can always get a good comfortable shave from shaving accessories that don't cost the earth.

The Parker Variant performed excellently paired together with the Super-Max BDT mowing through my stubble with effortless ease.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Haven't tried the Lo Storto yet, but it intrigues me. Do you prefer the OC or SB?

The Tabac Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 Finest Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 3D Schick Type OC Razor and the Schick Plus Platinum Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I’m really enjoying this Goodfella - even though it’s such a mild razor it still performs very, very efficiently. With a good blade such as an Astra Green you’re pretty much guaranteed to get a great shave. Fernando’s Pole Position is a wonderful soap - the scent is so nice - it’s a carbon copy of Calvin Klein’s CK One, like all the other soaps he makes this one is tallow based, the lather is so THICK, rich, SLICK, cushiony, as well as protective, and the skincare is awesome. The Nivea Sensitive balm’s scent is not that nice (to me) but it’s a great soother, and the Black Powder aftershave smells gorgeous - not only that, it has a pretty strong menthol kick. Three glorious passes resulted in a super duper BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!

Razor : Star bar #4 lather catcher, Mfg 1919-20, excellent tame mid range, Well designed and built to last many generations with some care. This is one of the best shaves a person can get with a new blade IMO. It just was made perfect for my shaving needs. If a person gets a chance to find one "buy it" is my advice + it looks beautiful also!
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : La Toja stick, very mild scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Sagrada Familia" 2 band badger, excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, great splay scrubber, excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Fine fresh Vetiver with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Star Bar #4 lather catcher with a coated Gem blade.
