The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #423 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Darwin-Handle Gillette Old Type and a Personna Super Blade (72) gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This De Vergulde Hand is the oldest soap in the world - it’s 469 years old and for a very reason - it’s absolutely FANTASTIC. It’s as cheap as chips but the performance is much better than many soaps which cost much more. I love the classy, old school scent, the lather is a pleasure to work up, it’s so slick as well as cushiony so it gives good protection, and it’s so gentle on my sensitive skin. The matching balm and aftershave spray have that same gorgeous scent and they’re great in the skincare department. The Netherlands has lots of awesome shaving products but VGH is the best known. Smooth as silk from three passes - what a terrific shave this was!

DE SOTD, December 12th 2023

Razor : Yaqi SLOPE 316SS slant head with a Yaqi brass nickel handle- Mfg 2023> nice milder slant, use a Kai SS to bump it to a tame mid range like I do. Machining and finish OK for my shaving needs. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai SS extra wide blade (2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Razorock The dead sea- nice unique bright clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Goblin" 24 mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SLOPE slant with a Kai extra wide blade.
