White and a Pro 500 Super Platinum Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Cella After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Here my Wednesday Shave (27.12.2023)


Razor: Mühle Rocca Birch // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: RazoRock SMdF // Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L // Aftershave: RazoRock SMdF

The year 2024 is getting nearer and nearer…so i decided to use a set which really impressed me very much. RazoRock SMdF. Awesome scent and lather. In my opinion better than the Original, which is the Santa Maria di Fiore.

Lathered up with the Colonel which did it´s job really nicely.

The Rocca did a mighty fine job in 2,5 passes. BBS as a BBS can be. Wonderful.

A 10 out of 10

SE SOTD, Wednesday December 27th 2023

Razor : Ever-Ready 1924(AKA shovel head) with a Ever-Ready Streamline stropping handle- Mfg 1924-33, tame mid range with a RIGS shim. Excellent design for that era with interesting back to open blade installation. The razor was designed for the older thicker splined so I add a spent spline modern Aluminum spline(RIGS Shim) to raise it slightly to mimic the older spline. Had a wonderful close comfortable shave this morning. Good to be back home in my comfort zone when it comes to shaving.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (4) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Irish countryside with witch hazel- very unique scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia"22 mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. One of my nicest badger brushes for my shaving needs. Handle is smaller than most other Yaqi handles.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Irish Countryside with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-ready 1924 shovel head with a coated Gem blade.

I was hesitant to try the Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades again, because the last time I tried one, I had some post-shave irritation. They are very sharp, but this time I got a comfortable close shave without the irritation. I suppose my technique has improved -- a very light touch with no pressure, shorter, slower strokes. I love my Henson!

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
Brush: Lider Turkish Boar.
Face Lather.
Lather: Derby Shave Stick.
Blade: Supermax Blue Diamond. (D2)
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Premium TTO.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Gummy Traditional Turkish Lavender Cologne. /Arko Fresh ASB.

I used the vintage Daveso Garanti OC razor for the first time. He gave a decent shave in two pass on a two-day growth of beard. I think that the razor can only be produced so precisely with the techniques of that period. It cannot hold the blade properly and very tightly, the holes of the base plate are larger than poles, it is necessary to align the blade well by hand when placing it, there is blade chattering, I can say that it is a medium aggressive razor. But it didn't shave very cleanly, and although I wanted to do the third pass, but I didn't do it in case it irritated me. Compared to today's modern safety razors and production techniques, it is a machine that is far behind in terms of workmanship and precision production.
