The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with Tom's 3D Printed Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Pocket Edition (1914) razor and the Gillette Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Duru Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

A wonderful BBS shave with my number one favourite cream - do I LOVE it and the Prep as well as the Polar Ice aftershave are a perfect finish. Finally the lovely old school Yves Saint Laurent fragrance and I’m good to go.

SE SOTD, Friday, December 20th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining, finish with a simple clamping design(very hard to manufacture small SS Parts IMO).
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild pink(2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Speick stick, nice mild herbal scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Ferrari" 24mm boar bristle knot. Very soft and nice face feel knot with a nice handle to hold.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE with a Kai CTMP blade .

I tried the Ile De France blades today. They were a no go, I think time has degraded the edge. It was fun try though. I'll have to try out one of my vintage blade stroppers on one and see if it makes an improvement. Once I switched to the modified Parker blade it was smooth sailing.

*-SG Shave features shave scents admired by our Presidents. With that, I jumped to it, because I knew JFK's favorite was "Eight And Bob". Problem is, they honored Eisenhower with the "Eight and Bob" scent, not JFK. What made it more confusing is that they correctly said Eight and Bob was one of JFK's favorite scents-while honoring Eisenhower. Whew! I almost ordered their "Kennedy" shave&A.S. before seeing their error. I called Frank at SGS and he thanked me for noticing that. He appeared to say he would put Eight and Bob where it belongs, with Kennnedy, the next time they prepare more Kennedys. Maybe by the time I finish the IKE(Eisenhower), the correction will be made. How was it that JFK loved "Eight And Bob"? That's for a different post.

Lather: Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap Bar.
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum. (D1)
Razor: Yintal 9306-I TTO.
Razor: Gillette Guard. (Head) (D3)

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Brut Original ASL with added menthol crystals/Boots Cucumber Moisturising Lotion.

A new shave set up to to start the weekend... The Ach Brito Mogno soap always produces a slick protective lather in a short space of time leaving a superb post shave feel.

An enjoyable face & head shave for the winter solstice.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Boots Cucumber Moisturising Lotion.

My face & precious swede are both feeling cool smooth, and smelling divine.
