BVLGARI BLV After Shave

I used this kind of blade Monday in the PAA Symmetry and got a bad shave. I blamed the razor. I moved the blade to the Parker Semi-Slant Tuesday and again got a bad shave. Today I used the Parker Semi-Slant, except I used a new Gillette Wilkinson blade. The result was a 10 out of 10. I think a blade being a lemon out of the wrapper has only happened once before to me, and that was years ago.

Razor : Razorock Game Changer.84 with a RR Radio knob handle. Mfg 2018>, tame mid range. Excellent machining + finish for my shave needs. Not a lot of blade feel so I like to use a Kai SS extra wide blade to give a little more blade feel.
Blade : Kai SS (2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. This blade is slightly wider than standard Gillette blades by 9/1000 of inch or 4.5/1000 per side. Great blade for milder razors that need a boost.
Soap : Razorock "The Dead Sea", nice addictive fragranced soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. Great big bloomed knot with softer bristles with a short handle.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my RR GC.84 with a Kai SS blade.

A simple wonderful shave this morning. The Parker badger brush lays on the Barbasol different than a synthetic brush. It spreads it like a hand would. I squirt a dollop on the well hydrated brush and rub into skin into a thin watery layer. Then another dollop on the brush for a second layer. The Schick L type continues to be a favorite. Just right!

Since the Proraso Green soap was reformulated a few years ago it’s so much better. For a long time I stayed away from it because it was irritating my skin but my barber gave me a brand new bowl of it when I went to get a haircut and to make a long story short it performs great. It still has the same nice eucalyptus scent, the lather is awesome, it’s still pretty damned mentholated, but it has MUCH better postshave care. The Gold Bond moisturizer has lots of chill to it and it’s so soothing. I finally finished off my Proraso Green aftershave and I enjoyed its icy cold punch. Three passes did me proud - a super duper BBS shave that was so much fun!
