Is it just an illusion from the angle of the picture, or does that kamisori have a slight frown to it?

I thought it might be the angle and also on both sides bevel is slightly uneven looking, but I just put the edge on a flat surface and shined a flashlight and see space. I'm not good at wedge type honing and sent it out to Glen. It shaves great. Next full honing I'll have it straightened out. There's plenty of metal in this guy.

    Lijun Finest Badger
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel

The more I use this Lijun Badger the more I like it! The firmness of the badger knot and it's excellent performance has put it firmly at the top of my Badger list.
The Tabac SC and the AV Musk paired beautifully, providing a slick creamy lather and fragrant finish. Excellent shave! :happy088:

I have the Rose of Bulgaria SC and ASL Bob and they are heavenly scented and the SC is excellent with lush creamy lather. :happy088:

    Bowl: Dirty Bird 1.5 Scuttle
Pre Shave Soap: Musgo Real Lime Basil Oil
Pre Shave Balm: TSD Iced Sub Zero
    Shave Cream: TOB Jermyn Street
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Nivea sensitive ASB
Jermyn Street and Nivea were part of my Christmas haul and first time trying both. Jermyn has a nice aroma too it and has nice thick lather that really left my face feeling smooth. Still prefer Eton College over Jermyn but both are excellent creams. Liked the Nivea ASB as well. Will not collide with my colognes so a major plus. Really digging this Ikon Slant I received at Christmas. I purchased a 39C last month and I may never go back to it. Will have to test the 39c with a Gillette Silver Blue for comparison sake.

hot shower w/Crabtree and Evelyn Sandalwood bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Parker 80R 3 passes
    Astra Superior Platinum (1)
    Semogue Owners Club badger
T&H Sandalwood cream and TOBS Sandalwood cream (samples) in the scuttle
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    Alum
    T&H Sandalwood AS Balm (sample)

Had some leftover T&H Sandalwood shave cream in the cabinet but not enough for a shave so I mixed in a little TOBS Sandalwood shave cream from my TOBS sampler. Lots of sandalwood today and even used my GFT Sandalwood deodorant stick.

I enjoyed an absolutely glorious 1st pass. So glorious in fact that I got too excited and lost control on pass number 2, spun out, jumped the curb and hit the barrels. Came out of it okay with just a couple of minor nicks and a slight burn. I put enough hot sauce on my chili omelet and potatoes at breakfast that I eventually forgot all about my shave burn.

Looking forward to some great shaves with this Astra SP 5 shave test if I can just relax and stay focused.

    Sunday!

Nivea for Men Sensitive face wash.
    Gillette Guard cartridge razor
    Arko soap, grated stick
    Unbranded/no-name Pure Badger brush
    3 passes, growth adjusted.
    Ajanta alum
Proraso Cutting Edge after shave balm

Wonderful reunion with the Guard system. This was the first time I used it together with a normal lather. Previously has been with my brush-less gel - the difference is magnificent! This time I actually felt it was really really good. Never tried a cartridge that felt this good. It's my travel system, so now I'm actually looking forward to the next travel :)

My travel kit has been reorganized, so instead of brush-less gel I now bring a tiny steel bowl, soap/cream of the mood and brush. It actually weighs less and takes less real-estate than the brush-less tube from Proraro. Win-win.

    Have a nice Sunday.

A close, smooth shave with no razor burn or cuts, what more could you ask for? I'm starting to see consistent results building lather from soap, which is nice. It's not 100% yet but I'm getting there!

    Sunday

A shave with new items! Everything was a gift I received for Christmas.

Unscented Synergy shaving soap (a gift from my daughter-in-law Jessica)

Mühle VIVO black fibre brush (a gift from my mother-in-law Martha)

iKon ShaveCraft razor (a gift from my wife Sue)

Astra SP blade (from my TSD secret Santa, HolyRollah)

What can I say? Wonderful new shaving items! The Mühle V2 black fiber is very soft, but has more backbone than the old black fiber, which was a little floppy. It whipped up the Synergy soap easily, making a good lather. I've been using a Gillette Tech the past week, so the ShaveCraft razor felt especially hefty. It will take me a few outings to get used to how it handles, but the initial impression is great. Three passes, nice smooth result.
