You set me up with the best stuff, you know I had an awesome shave.

 

I was a big Elvis fan back in the day—although I was just a kid when he made his comeback in '69.
I did like how they went back and digitally added Martina McBride into that old 1969 video—in reality, she was just 3 yrs old at the time when they originally taped Elvis' performance. She sings pretty good for a toddler!

 

As we also say in Arabic, "Allah ikhalik kullu yamin hayatak, habibi." (May God help you all the days of your life, my dear!"

 

I can remember when Elvis released his first record (Hound Dog) and every guy in Junior High School dressed like Elvis wore their hair like Elvis, etc. That's prety cool about the Martina McBride being dubbed into the film! Can you imagine what the razor that Elvis used (they didn't have carts back in those days) would sell for today? I wonder what happened to that razor? E-Bay?

It was a very nice Christmas shave. The Proraso Green face-lathered nicely and gave off a wonderful cool sensation. Two passes with The Schick M adjustable left me clean, smooth, and refreshed. Finished off with cold water rinse, Thayers Cucumber WH, and Pinaud Clubman AS.​

I went with the MR1 today loaded with a Gillette Platinum. I pulled out my tub of RazoRock Fresco today. Another close, nick & burn free shave. I finished with Krampert’s Bay Rum.

It felt like heaven to shave with the Palmolive Menthol cream - its beautiful minty scent and rich lather with that frigid menthol sensation gave me so much shaving pleasure. The 444 balm is not only very cooling, it's also very moisturizing and soothing. The Floid Classic aftershave is another big favourite of mine. My friend Luke sent me a couple of packs of Permasharp blades - hey, they're nice and smooth! (Thanks, buddy!)

I chased the baby again today. The chase was definitely successful, as I got BBS results everywhere but directly under the point of my chin, but I caught a couple of weepers on my Adam's Apple and the right corner of my mouth in the process. I also 'treated' myself by face lathering with the Simpson (which the paperwork that came with it seems to recommend against), and was very pleased that 8 - 10 seconds on the puck got me enough soap in the brush to lather 3 full passes. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate.

A fine shave. The lather was slick and thick and very nice scented.The iKon just glides through the stubbles.Enjoyable!!!​

If you don´t know the Calani soaps,buy one.You won´t be dissapointed.The skin care is wonderful and the lather (as well as the scent) is fantastic.​

What a nice shave! Santa brought me the Weber razor, Semogue brush, Stirling soap, and the Brut. The Brut took me back to being in high school in the 70's. Great stuff and just as I remembered. The Brut will be getting plenty of use. This was my first time with the razor, soap, and brush and they all lived up to their reputations.

I had a another very nice straight razor shave—very leisurely-paced with some Christmas music playing softly in the background.
Some fresh hot coffee and some of my wife's homemade Christmas Stollen = a wonderful start to a beautiful Christmas morn.

~ Preperation included a warm shower with C.O. Bigelow Shampoo and Body wash, Elixir Green.
~ Badger brush with a high loft for bowl lathering the C.O. Bigelow shaving cream.
~ Gillette New with an IP (Crystal) on 3 or 4.
~ Post, Clinique for the face and Van Dyke whiskers that are on day 3. C.O. Bigelow Mentha Body Lotion (peppermint oil, leaf extract etc).
~ C.O. Bigelow Barber Cologne, Elixir Green.

I love my nasty ole New, it's just a dream shaver. Once or twice a year I give it a nice Maas polish but most of the time it stays just like you see. A very nice and cooling shave for this holiday morning.

Merry Christmas! My wife gifted me with this beautiful Gillette NEW Long Comb! It shaves wonderful on its maiden voyage, two pass with touch up for a DFS+! Very happy! Aces!

 

Thorsten, does the Eis Engel soap have any real cooling effect? The reason I ask is because somebody on Gut Rasiert told me it doesn't. I was thinking of buying it but the guy said I shouldn't.

the Eis Engel does not have any cooling effects.Nothing!!! It has a little bit of Menthol in the scent.That´s why Menthol is mentioned. But nevertheless the soap is worth every penny. It has such a nice smell to it. For me it´s a winter scent. A little bit woodsy and a little bit sweet. For me i have to say that i like it very much. But you are right,there is Menthol mentioned on the package. Cathy (the women behind Calani),told me,that the Menthol stands for the "Winter Scent". When you imagine cold,freezings days outside and shave with this soap,then you are in the right mood to go out and enjoy the cold weather. Calani is a composite of her and her man´s name. I don´t know how to describe the soap better. But i hope everyone of you knows what i tried to explain. But Jeff,if you have the chance to get a sample of this soap (of a full soap),get it!!! The lather is really great. Slick,thick and has very good moisturizing abilities. The skin care after the shave is great too. The face feels a bit like if it "creamed". Very nice.

But i know you as a Menthol "Freak",so i have to say,that this soap isn´t 100% perfect for you. It´s your choice...
