Rocked the Ming Shi today...@#4 this guy gives an excellent, easy, smooth, and super close irritation free shave!
What more can I say....This is probably the best DE razor I have used...and besides gifts, the least expensive...

Nice. I actually almost came close to thinking about pondering getting one of those.

 

No harder to use a feather in one of those then a Dorco(which is what I usually use) Just takes good technique. Beautiful razor by the way.

When I saw Andrew had these going for $10, I had to try one! A Ming-Shi copy of a Super Speed was the first razor I found when I first rediscovered TWS...And that was a really nice piece, and did what I needed at the time...But this new one is pretty unbelivable...I have to say, "Bravo" Ming-Shi! Nice job!!

 

Great head shave tonight:
Colgate soap grated and Skin Bracer soaked, lathered well with the Muhle Silverfibre V2. Birth year and quarter Black Beauty set to 5 on a Feather (3). Lemon Thayers followed by Skin Bracer and topped off with Nivea Cooling ASB.

I think I'll have to repeat this combo again and see how it goes as it was 3 pass BBS with no irritation.

 

Colgate rocks! Never used it quite like that. I will put a few drops of scent on a soap now and then. Usually the old spice.

 

Very nice. One that I've never had the pleasure of acquiring. Fine example of an "Ultra Rare Razor".

My first time using this razor and this make of blade and I've never managed to get a decent lather with this soap. So, a quick prayer to the gods of traditional shaving and away I go. BRB.
Well, the gods turned a deaf ear, that was a poor shave. I'd bloomed the soap, loaded it until my arm ached and the result was the same as my other uses of it. A dissipating, wispy, insubstantial lather.
I struggled through the first pass, rinsed off the brush and loaded up with Wickhams Irish Fern. Much better.
Why I chose to try an unfamiliar blade in an unfamiliar razor has me stumped. Now I don't know if the Ladas are mild or the 901 is, or both, I suspect both.
It took three passes to get a DFS, not happy!
But there was something to smile about, another new experience....the Tuff aftershave, a nice subtle floral, herby, scent which leaves the skin feeling good.
