I had the Tech and thought it was way too aggressive for me for a daily razor, I'd much rather use the Standard. I'm not a big fan of OC and have gone through a number of them, surprisingly the Grafco-Merkur 3-Piece OC has been my favorite.

Excellent Omar! Here's what I do, after I run the alum on my face I clean up my gear, when I'm done I rinse off the alum with cold water, pat dry my face with a towel, pour witch hazel in my palm of my hand and apply all over face, forehead, neck, ears, you get the idea ;) after a couple of minutes I apply my aftershave.

    SHAVE OF the day
    20160103_163240.jpg

    Prep: musgo real classic
    Razor: Gillette superspeed flair tip
    Blade: Super-Max titanium (1st shave)
    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
    Soap: Godrej Shaving Round
    Post: Stetson cooling moisture

2 pass shave today. First time with these particular blades and it went quite well. They felt sharp and smooth. The Godrej is a great inexpensive soap. I like the key imprint in the bottom of the soap. The lather is slick and has a barbershop scent. Finished the shave with Stetson cooling moisture. Hope everyone had a great shave!

One question i had: When do you use tiger after shave vs witch hazel? I have the witch hazel delivering tomorrow.

If you made it this far thanks for reading. Really appreciate it.

Congrats on a successful first DE shave! It gets even better if you could believe it, but it looks like you have some great gear and are off to a great start. As the aftershave question goes, witch hazel the lucky tiger. This way the WH doesn't water down the scent, and will have time to dry before applying lucky tiger.

    Straight Feather Goose Focus

    January 3

For January I'm focusing on two razors, the W.B. Speed Rabbit TSR and the Mongoose, on loan from @Rufus T. Since the Goose uses AC blades I'm using the Feather Pros.

    Razor - W.B. Speed Rabbit
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Proraso
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea, Proraso A/S

It's back to the Rabbit today after opening with the Mongoose. Interesting, because I feel like I'm getting less irritation with the straight than the Goose. At least it felt like that during the shave. I managed the first pass with no issues and it was smooth and feeling a bit more natural than when I started with it. Second pass mostly XTG though some ATG on the neck. Still no blood but my neck is just a tad sensitive, I think from the excess pressure from the Goose a couple of days ago. Finished with a nice CCS after two and called it a day. Work was waiting and the holiday party tonight. Good day and fun party and a great shave to start it with. Can't beat a day like that!
