Beard Prep: Hot shower. Glycerin soap. Hair conditioner.
    Brush: Omega 13109 Pure Badger
    Cream: TOBS Avocado
    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade: Voskhod
Post shave: Cold water rinse. Thayers Original WH.
After Shave: Nivea Sensitive Skin After Shave Balm

    Very good shave. Fairly smooth.

Not a fan of the scent of the TOBS Avocado, so probably won't use it again. Luckily it was just a sample.

The Voskhod blade is very smooth and impressive. I think I will take advantage of the cheap prices for a 100 pack on ebay and keep these on hand.

Yep. And I'll let you in on something with straights, IMO.
There are going to be some motions you will simply not be able to do with a straight, depending on your face and neck, the dexterity of your hands, etc.
With a straight you have to find what motions work for you, personally. For me, I will never get a straight west to east or east to west on either side of my neck. I would literally slice my own throat.

After skipping yesterday, I had a very nice shave today. I really enjoy the IK soap and don't understand why it doesn't get more chatter on the forums.

Here's another stick which has been sitting around for a long time so I felt like using it this morning and I'm glad I did. The Wilky stick has a great scent with plenty of rich, stable lather and in my honest and unbiased opinion it's a million times better than the Wilky bowl soap in every way imaginable. The Benjamin's Bay Rum is from the West Indies and it has a light, but very nice scent and it feels soothing and refreshing. This shave was pretty darned good even if I say so myself.;) :D

I usually do a Lavender or a Rose scented lather on Sundays. But, this morning I decided to go with Almond instead. The lather made was terrible due to lack of proper brush loading and sheer laziness. Still, the lather was fairly protective and it was slick. 3 passes and very smooth.

A very nice shave again with the Schick J3 / Gillette Twin Edged Blade combination. Solid performance was provided by the Matador "croap" and semogue brush combination.

    Outstanding Classic Shave
I decided to go with classic Proraso this morning - white pre Barba, red soap, and green splash. After my shower I enjoyed the cool of the pre while I whipped up the Red into creamy yogurt. I added water slowly, and it didn't take much to get there. Three passes with Der Vorschlaghammer left my skin smooth and clear of weepers or irritation. I finished with the Green splash with its classic barbershop scent and pleasing menthol cool. I expected a kick from the alcohol, but none was forthcoming. I think what made the difference was my acceptance that my neck is going to be a little bit rougher than my cheeks. Many painful lessons have encouraged me to let it be on my neck and I'm beginning to heed them.

    Prep: Proraso White pre barba
    Soap: Proraso Red Barba Dure
    Brush: HIS lather monster
    Razor: Der Vorschlaghammer 39c
    Blade: Astra SP(1)
    AS: Proraso Green Lozione

One of my goals is to get down to a two pass shave for the weekday. I've done it with my New SC but it is eluding me with the New LC. Today is practice for tomorrow. 2 N/S passes left me with a good shave but gravelly stubble is left. My neck is decent.

Prep: warm wash and Cornhusker's Lotion
    Lather: Klar Kabinett
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M
    Razor: Gillette New LC
    Blade: Voskhod teflon coated (1)
