5 Blade BBS....'bout time to change blades...I love these carbons for smooth and effortless but after 4 days seems to be pushing that point of diminishing returns...;) The Gem Stainless Coated blades while maybe not quite as ultra smooth (but still smoother than any DE's I know of) do last about 10 shaves...It's all good with these great old SE's...:)

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Personna Lab (2)
    Soap: RazoRock S. Maria
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: British Sterling

Darn near BBS shave this morning. This was the first time I've used the RR S. Maria. It has a wonderful, very light eucalyptus scent and produces a very nice lather. I'm definitely a fan!

    Have a great day!

    Matas Sensitive face wash.
Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip / Gillette Tech Aluminium Handle coupled with Viking's Sword (1).
    Arko, grated soap stick.
    Vie-Long Butterscotch Edition horse hair.
    3 passes, growth adjusted.
    Ajanta alum.
Nivea for Men Sensitive after shave balm.

I decided to take my shiny Super Speed for a spin again - we've had our disagreements in the past and sadly they are still present. I had to finish the third pass with my Tech. I dunno what's wrong with my technique with the Super Speed but it pulls and tugs and if not that, it doesn't scrape the soap off like a close shave. It's a shame because I'd really like to love that razor, but no matter what we just fight every time. Using the Tech today makes me more eager to receive my newly ordered Tech Fat Handle. That razor just rocks in my hands, and I hope the "fatty" will also.

Despite the difficulties, the Tech made it a really nice shave in the end. Have a nice week-end, ya'll!

@crackstar:Jeff my dear Friend, thank you for your kind words.

It was an honor for me to sent you the cream. As we all here know, you are our Menthol Junkie. So,have fun with it and enjoy the shaves. Don´t worry about the Anherb conditioner. Maybe someday i will get it anywhere. I can wait. :)

    Take care my friend.

I know what you mean about wanting to like my flair tip Super Speed. I have a mint Super Speed that is my birth year, and I have struggled to like it. Recently I had a few decent shaves with it, so maybe my technique has gotten better. But if I want an easy comfortable shave, I reach for one of my Techs.

Nothing wrong with the Eagles Dale, you have one of the best coaches to come out of the college ranks (Yah DUCKS!) and he will deliver for Philly but, I gotta cheer for the Seahawks this year. (My NFL Team) I'm thinkin' Kelly will deliver next year.
Before we get too crazy remember...there's always Payton Manning! Yikes!! :shocked003:

Kevin, you are right about the BIG razor. The tiny little sink area was a real challenge to find a place to put that monster.
The travel holster for the Futur is from Dovo. It works great to protect it from the dopp kit scratches. :happy088:

Traveling Open Comb: Merkur 25c day three

My last shave with the 25c was just as smooth and easy as the first. I got a really nice DFS+
Prep: warm face wash with Shea Moisture Three Butters Scrub
    Soap: HTGAM Lime
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Merkur 25c
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge yellow
Post: cold water rinse, Captain's Choice Bay Rum

I put hot water onto the massive HTGAM puck this time, and it made great lather again, but the scent was more muted than when I soaked the whole thing. That worked ok for me, as I was able to sniff the soap as I whipped the lather in my mug. My face is a bit sensitive, so face lathering doesn't work for me. The lather was thick and slick, and the 25c made short work of it. I slowed down and found the angle easily. I still needed an extra pass, but I had no weepers or burn.

I could easily see owning a 25c at some point. I really like it. Next time I'll use the Old Type and compare the two. I included a photo of them both that clearly shows the condition of the finish on the Old Type. I'll remember to use less pressure with it, as advised on the forum. John Beeman Little chicken in hot water

    Saturday:
    hot shower
    Homemade PSO
    Gillette Knack 2 passes
    Feather Hi Stainless Platinum (6)
    Omega boar
GFT Eucris cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    HTGAM Cavendish AS balm

Busy Saturday so just time for a quick 2 pass this morning with one of the razors I picked up over the Christmas holiday. The Knack performed very well and was predictably smooth and mild and I was easily able to get a very good shave without a hint of problem. Of course, this was after I thawed out my pre shave oil which had turned to a thick gel overnight with the cold temps in my basement shave den bathroom.
The GFT sample also performed very well as have all of the GFT samples I've used to date. A nice mild scent that eventually fades so there's nothing to clash with your choice of aftershave or cologne.

Picked up lots of treasures today so I'll get them cleaned up and photographed so I can post them in The Haul before I have to (potentially) shovel out from a big snow that's supposedly on the way tonight.

I've also had some of the first shave with it that was great, but not since. So once in a while I reach for the SS, but the past many times it hasn't been all success.
