Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
    Soap: Maggard London Barbershop
Razor: Gillette Red Tip Super Speed
Blade: Vintage Gillette “Spoiler” Super Stainless (5)
Brush: Honey Farm Designs/TGN Premium Silvertip-24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Reef Point Submariner

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Maggard London Barbershop today. 20 seconds to load the HFD/TGN Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette “Spoiler” SS still in the Red Tip. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Reef Point Submariner aftershave.

Amazing shave this morning. I started by filling the scuttle with hot water before my shower. This allowed it to cool enough that the great didn't break down the lather. The GSB performed flawlessly in the MonoBilt, thanks for the suggestion @Bama Samurai . I made a thick creamy lather out if the Amici, which is a great scent BTW, and went to town. Three days of growth wiped away effortlessly. And I am smooth once again. Have a great day my friends!

Certainly are. I'm keeping up with how many shaves it will take to finish off this Ozark Mountain sample. I'll report back. Like I said, the five shaves so far look like they haven't made a dent.

Love the handle on the razor, is it wood? I have one similar, only it`s a plastic of some kind (elite razors) and kinda slick.

Thank you. Yes it's wood, I turned both the brush and razor handle myself. It isn't slick at all and water beads up and runs off nicely.

They are both supposed to be Yucatan rosewood but I used two different pieces of wood...they don't quite match like I was planning. I wanted to make a matched set. I know better for the next set.

Dec 8: New blade, new soap, new brush. The blade is the Shark Super Chrome (part of my ongoing test), the soap is Barrister & Mann Lavanda, and the brush is a new Omega Hi-Brush synthetic. First synthetic I've owned and tried. The Shark blade gave a so so shave. Not bad, but middle of the pack results. Some pulling but no irritation. I really could not tell the difference between this blade and its twin brother the Shark Super Stainless. I will rate it among the growing population of "ok" blades. The soap was nice. As with all B & M soaps - the lather was excellent. I live in the middle of lavender growing country - the scent of this soap wasn't much like lavender. The Omega synthetic was surprisingly nice. Not as good as my boar brushes but was as good if not better than any of my badger brushes. Handle was very easy to grip. Needed to use a bit more water for the bowl lather as the synthetic hairs don't retain water as well. Finished with a splash of Fine Platinum.

Is the wood bare or did you apply a finish coat of some kind. By the way I noticed the brush handle too, but my single cell mind was set on the razor. We grow a lot of myrtle wood here in So. ore. They have distinct "burl" knots at the root level. If I run across some, would you be interested (for your own use) I`m not really interested, I like all things shiny. During the Summer, my wife, my sister and I go to all the old antique shops, and I can keep an eye open for a good deal. With regards, Bill

Razor - gillette long comb red black set
    Brush - klenzo reknot
    Blade - yellow 7oclock (8shave)
    Soap - arko
Post - stirling witch hazel / proraso white pre shave
A/S - rite aid artic blue

So this shave was great!! I've been getting almost 10 shaves out of most of blades easily. Here's another soap that I never got any slickness out of it... until I learned the secret!!! Wow I can't believe how wonderful arko can be as far as performance .. this past year it's like I've been shaving in a grey fog.. now my eyes are open and I'm getting great shaves out of most of my soaps ( except TSD lanolin and DR Harris) .. I'm a happy camper

    Happy shaving gents!
