    Friday

    Merkur Futur
    Gillette SP (6)
    Omega Boar
    TSD Cool Water Type Soap
    Aqua Velva Ice Sport

Somewhat hurried shave, but the Gillette blade is still going strong! Near BBS in 3 passes. The AV Ice Sport has a scent that complements that of the soap rather nicely.

I am hoping to get some of that this Christmas! My brother was buying for me this year, but I think he will probably just give me some soaps, a razor and maybe some expensive custom brush that he tried once and didn't like the feel of (all discards...I honestly don't want to know how much money he spends on shaving...:think002:)

    Wilkinson Sword (3)
    TGN Silvertip
    TBS Maca Root Shave Cream
    TBS Maca Root Razor Relief
    Pinaud Clubman AS

This razor always seems like a contradiction to me. For instance - I had a great smooth feeling shave with no tugging whatsoever, yet I would up with 5 or so weepers (granted, nothing major). Also interesting to me is that of all my razors it gets closer than almost every other in the neck area, yet for the face, the one place I can usually get an effortless BBS, it struggles to get as close after 5 passes as most can do in 3. In any case I wound up with a nice close shave after all, and feel great after slapping on a little of the ol' Clubman. 4/5

    FRIDAY 09 December:

    Hot Shower
Feather Artist Club SS Folding with a Super Pro Blade
    Semogue 1250 Brush
    Vitos Green Shaving Soap
Alum Block followed by Proraso Pre/Post
    Old Spice A/S

Good shave today.....the fear of using a straight has now gone, I just have respect! Will have to get my camera functioning. In the post yesterday......I received what can only be described as 'razor porn' I intend to give my new Kai Captain Excelia Japanese style, its inaugural shave in the near future!

    Friday shave:

Hot shower, scrub face with Neutrogina daily wash, rub beard down with some of my conditioner at the end of my hair-washing
Art of Shaving Sandalwood pre-shave oil
MWF sample lathered up with my AoS Fine Badger brush
Razor: My new vintage Joseph Allen & Sons NON*XLL "Medium Size Hollow Ground" razor I just got from Whipped Dog!
Warm splash, styptic, cold splash, AoS Sandalwood Aftershave Balm

I got about 1/3 of the way through my first real straight razor shave and.... the power went out! I opened the blinds in the bathroom to let the late afternoon light in and very carefully finished the flat portions of my face with the straight and called it a day. Result: SAS

Meant to post this yesterday...R.I.P John Lennon...

    A Frosty Mug Shave

My shave was like an A and W rootbeer, frosty mug taste!

I used some pif'd product (thank you Johnny for the Proraso pre/post and cream, and thank you for some Alcolado Glacial Mech Guy), and the shave was on.

    Assorted soaks/splashes
    Proraso pre/post
    Vulfix 404 Mixed
    EJ89
    Feather (2)
    Witch Hazel
    Alcolado Glacial
    Jockey Club Talcum

It was frosty from the first bit of Proraso pre down to the Glacial, which I really enjoyed. It is more than just chilly, it has a citrusy scent as well.

I enjoyed the Feather Blade again, and achieved a smooth and clean BBS and the face feels great!

Thanx mang. Yea, Phil's shipping speed is superb. I have heard such great things about this razor and a few that have said the 41 is a great shaver, but causes a bit of a burn. Thanx

It is amazing how much soap you can load up in this Wee Scot. Lathered my face three times to make three passes and never had to reload the brush once.

Awesome shave, It is my wife's birthday today but a work day for me so the kids will be waiting on her all day (well we can dream).
My 1st use of a Nanny soap and I was very pleased with it. Our tap water is hard and plays havoc with soaps so I'm really quite impressed with how well it lathers. I shall use a slightly wetter brush next time but it was a very stable lather and the menthol "kick" was just right on this frosty morning.
