This Ice Cool cream from Bangladesh is well-named, because it really is very, very cooling. I love the lemony scent it has, and the lather is a pleasure to work with. The Alcolado Glacial as an aftershave is very frigid, but also quite drying, so a moisturizer is needed. Today's shave was a pleasure.

3. Lather: De Vergulde Hand vintage stick - face lather
4. Brush: Frank Shaving Finest
5. Razor: Gem HFT
6. Blade: Pella SS PTFE coated (4); 3 passes
7. Post: Cold water rinse; Aqua Velva Ice Blue mixed w/ California Baby super sensitive face lotion

So I've now lathered all 3 of my new De Vergulde Hand soaps. Yesterday morning I shaved with the tablet while this morning I shaved with the vintage stick. The current stick and tablet that share the exact same formulation definitely produced the same lather. The vintage stick this morning did require more product and it didn't seem to explode with lather, but WOWZA what a result. Extremely slick lather that gave me a nick-free, weeper-free, and irritation free DFS+. Would be BBS except for a small area along the jawline.If you have a chance to get some of this soap, then do it. You won't regret it!

It was a great 2 pass shave this morning as my daughter played with bath toys around my feet. She normally joins me for my weekend shaves. The Monsavon slathered up nicely and was really nice on the 2nd pass. All in all...it was a great shave!

My maiden voyage with the iKon OSS went swimmingly! The razor reminds me of the Feather All Stainless except the iKon is a much more efficient whisker whacker, is $60 less expensive and it has a "Dual Personality" Head. I received a very smooth, irritation free, BBS shave aided no doubt by "Da Fat" and the Semogue brush. A splash of Alt Innsbruck and I am ready for the day.

I took my time with the prep and it made a difference. I was feeling good after the normal two passes that I gave it an extra with touch up and have as close to a bbs as I'm likely to see.

 

Scott Wein's present got we to wondering where my old Futur actuall was. Found it in the closet along with it's old buddy my Vulfix 41 (now that's a brush!). So......

Saturday:

No shave today as it's my day off. Picked up my 3 line swaty this morning and since it's razor maintenance day I lathered up the stone did 6 laps, followed by 15 on the CROX balsa and finished up with 100 laps on the strop. Looking forward to tomorrow's shave to see how well the swaty worked.
