I will one of these days. With or without it, it's my favorite soap.

    • Prep: shower
    • Razor: Weber DLC
    • Blade: Polsilver SI (2)
    • Brush: New Forest Tubby 2
    • Soap: Calani Dubai sample
    • Post: Thayers Medicated Superhazel
    • After shave: Proraso lozione dopobarba, Bulldog balm
Great shave from the DLC as per usual. I even shaved my neck line like I did with the Mühle so that the blade will undergo the same kind of use. However, there are a few spots that have a tiny bit of whiskers left. Nothing major, but the Mühle R89 JET is slightly better in terms of closeness. Do note that I have one of the milder Weber DLC razor - not all are this mild.

I must also praise the Polsilver SI blades. They work superbly in any razor I have. A fantastic blade, indeed.

    Sunday

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Cella-Brick
Razor: ’50 Birth Year Gillette Ball End Tech
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

Still with my Birth Year Tech and the GSB. I used the Cella brick today. Great shave combination. The Cella still makes me hungry for an almond croissant whenever I use it…..and we don’t have a bakery! I finished with a little menthol from the Proraso Green. Great “Italian” shave!

    Sunday:

Hot shower followed by two hot towels and a facial massage
    #6 Horsehair
    Dovo Bismarck 5/8
Hega Shaving Stick :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :smiley respect: :smiley respect:
    Thayer's Witch Hazel :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Booster Iced Lime AS :love055::love055: :love055: :love055:
    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

What a pity that Sweden went out of the wetshaving business, because this Hega stick which dates back to the 1930s is fantastic. It has such a nice old-school scent and lathers so richly and easily with very good skincare. A friend of mine who's a member of this group sent it to me as a birthday gift several years ago along with a few other vintage sticks, and I'd do anything to be able to get this "old man" again. The Thayer's witch hazel and the Booster Iced Lime made the end of this great shave feel fantastic. We're expecting almost a foot of snow today, so I ain't stepping outside! ;) :D

    SUNDAY
Prep: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, Homemade PSO
    Razor: Merkur Futur (set@5)
    Blasde: Astra Platinum (Day 2)
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Lather: Stirling Frozen Tundra
Shave: Two passes, plus DE touch-up
Post: Rinse, Alum block, 444 balm

After a Saturday Shavecation, back at it this morning with an aggressive Futur shave. Dialed to nearly wide open, the Merkur feels very much like the R41 in that you know without a doubt there is an exposed blade is there. A very light touch is recommended as the gaping razor 'gap' can be intimidating. Two passes got me quite close & smooth, but I was bitten twice—once@ the adam's apple, one at the upper lip corner. In the future, I may keep this razor dialed back to more conservative 3 to 4 setting as I can still get smooth results, but I reduce the likelihood of the nicks.
    Have a blessed Sunday, all!

    Hi Friends,

first of all i want to wish every one of you a "Happy 3rd Advent". Enjoy it.:)

I just endet my shave. The hot shower to soften the beard and than i used this:

    1. Floid Sandolor Preshave Gel
    2. Gillette Old Type
    3. Wilkinson Sword Blade in 3-passes
    4. PannaCrema Vetiver
    5. Mühle Silvertip Fibre 23mm
    6. Bloc Osma Alum Block
    7. Alpa Windsor Aftershave
    8. a bit of extra virgen Olive Oil for the skin.

A thoroughly but not enjoyable shave...:angry017: I am working 12 straight days in a row without having a day or more free...till end of next week...because of this my skin is very irritated. My face burns like hell. I anticipated this shave so much and than this...:angry017: The Gillette Old Type is a little more aggressive as my New Type. Not bad,but i like razors that are so gentle that you don´t know if you have a blade in it. The Alpa Windsor is very good stuff. It smells very nice and gives a pretty good skin feel as well.

Have a nice day and take care of you.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Sunday:
    hot shower
    Maggard Cherry Sandalwood Vanilla PSO
    Gillette FatBoy 3 passes (9)
    Voskhod Teflon (3)
    VDH boar
GFT Spanish Leather cream in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    alum
    T&H Spanish Leather cologne (sample)

Had such a surprisingly good shave yesterday that I made the mistake of trying to make it happen again hence the witch hazel and alum to close a couple weepers and sooth a bit of irritation. Good products all around though, excellent PSO, mounds of luscious good smelling lather, and just a touch of great cologne.

What a pleasant surprise to see a good review of the Alpa Windsor this morning since I just ordered some last night (Blue Formula) on a whim after using my Alpa 378 yesterday. The 378 is the only smelly stuff I've ever purchased without even a sample scent and I like it so much that I decided to order the Windsor (also having never smelled it).
    Thanks, Thorsten!
