The Frank Shaving finest badger did an excellent job face-lathering the TOBS Lavender SC. Two passes and touch-ups on the neck and jawline with the Gillette Fat-handled tech and the Bluebird Hi-stainless blade left me with a BBS shave. Finished it off with Thayers Cucumber wH and Pinaud Clubman AS.

Nice old ivory scaled razor probably would be described as a medium grind but feels wedge like, very "stiff" blade. It's in the 1/2 - 5/8" range and a nice shaver. I found this razor and a W&B locally. It always make me wonder how this stuff ends up around here.

This morning my shaving journey took me to Bulgaria where the SuperMax Menthol cream is from. What a nice scent and rich lather it has, and it's quite cooling and refreshing. My dear friend Veli sent it to me last year. Again, I can't stop heaping praises on the Svoboda balm for its cooling and soothing action and the Max Refreshing aftershave is another awesome Bulgarian face-freezer. BBS with so little effort. ;) :D

Have a great weekend, folks! :)

    Friday:

Prep: Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Wash, Hot shower, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: VDH Unscented
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS
Cologne: The Third Man by Caron

The bumps along my jaw that had cut my shave short yesterday were subdued to the point where I could get multiple passes in today. The FaTip and Bic combine to shave closely enough that most of my face was BBS after just two passes, but I managed to open up a couple of weepers on my Adam's Apple (despite previous successes with Kevin's "Swallow and Hold" technique), so some spots along my goatee region and throat had to settle for a DFS. The Clubman stung as anticipated - it had been a while since I used it - and mingles interestingly with the cologne.

    Friday!!

It was a nice smooth shave this morning. Using the Cobra is getting to be quite natural now, and I finished this shave in record time, without trying. My face feels almost BBS just after 2 passes. The Cobra is truly a fantastic razor! I used my Coates Rose shave cream this morning. The scent isn't anything to write home about, but the performance is amazing! It was nice and slick for both passes.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    FRIDAY
Prep: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, Cedarwood PSC
    Razor: Mühle R41 Grande (2011)
    Blasde: Astra Platinum
    Brush: Lijun Silvertip
    Lather: Stirling Frozen Tundra
Shave: Two passes, plus DE touch-up
Post: Rinse, Alum block, 444 balm

A quick Friday DE shave with the R41; no scuttle, face-lather, two-passes & done!
I used my sample Stirling Frozen Tundra, which not only provided a excellent slick lather, but quite a menthol chill to my face as well. Ending with the equally chilling 444 balm, I left the house with a frozen face….but in a good way.
    Have a great Friday, all!

I've been experimenting with the MWF the last few weeks. Approach #1 was to soak it to expand it into a croap. Approach #2 was to let it dry (till cracks show). The croapy form gave me only average lather regardless of my adaptations. Definitely not reaching MWF's potential. This week's dryer form restored it back to true form. Experiment over.

Wow...Fantastic shave today. BBS all around with no touch up. This combination of SC NEW and Ikon Bulldog II is awesome! Effective + super smooth. The XXX might just push into my top 3 category...Performance seems even better than my other RR soaps and the scent on this one is simply amazing. On first impression, I would describe it as a fresh and clean sea breeze citrus with a hint of old school barber shop in the background. It pairs very well with the Don Marco ASB as well. Have a great day all!
