I need some better lights nothing fancy, just a couple clamp on bendy lights would help a ton.

image.jpeg Razor: Merker Futur Polished Chrome 2015 (1.5)
Brush: Vintage Ever-Ready 300L with TGN Silvertip 18/51
    Mug: Van Der Hagen
Coffee Mug: Old Spice Traditional Style Promotional Mug manufactured by the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company around 1970
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, 4711 cologne

Poured some hot fresh coffee in my Old Spice Mug, and off we go. Put a dab of Truefitt&Hill No 10 into my first mug. The Ever-Ready with the Silvertip whipped up some nice warm lather. My Futur is a great looking razor, and Still on 1.5 as it works will for me. I'm really happy with the quality of this razor and the great shaves I'm getting with it. It made quick work in 2 passes WTG XTG. A little touchup on my neck ATG and done. The WH felt good, nice and cool. After cleanup some JB and when it dried, some 4711 cologne. Did you know that was the address for this cologne? And it was in Cologne Germany, which is why we call it Cologne. Y'all have a good one!

    TUESDAY
I spent a good part of last Saturday touching-up about seven razors, finishing them on a Suehiro Gokumyo 20k synthetic stone (on loan from @cubancigar2000 ).
One of them was this fine FON 'Golden Star Deluxe.' The resulting shave this morning was exceptional smooth to the point that this razor would certainly qualify for my 'stranded on a desert island and only had one razor to use' choice. Superb 'Cavendish' lather from Route 66 and a Fine 'Platinum' finish. :happy088: Overall, a true BBS shave!

I never tried the Thayers Cucumber witch hazel - is it really that cooling?

    PREP: TACONIC BAY RUM
    RAZOR: GILLETTE BALL END TECH
BLADE: 7 AM PLATINUM (1ST USE)
    BRUSH: FINE ANGEL HAIR SYNTHETIC
    SOAP: L.A. SHAVING MYRKVIOR
POST: BURT'S BEES BAY RUM BALM

2 Pass shave today. first time with this soap and these blades. The soap has a dark scent, but was quite nice once lathered. I received a few new soaps in a trade with a member of another forum. The 7am blade seemed sharp and was smooth enough for my opinion to be good so far. Very close shave, and the menthol in the Bay Rum balm made for a nice post shave. Hope everyone has a great shave!

Let's see, in my world it feels cool, but in the Arctic Circle where you shave, not so much. To set the perspective from my side, I can't tolerate menthol of any kind, I start sneezing, and my eyes start watering, with an allergic reaction. Having said that, the Thayers Cucumber feels great, and has a wonderful scent.

I don't think I have the whole lathering thing down. I load my damp brush for about 30 seconds and proceed to face lather. Im not getting the slickness everyone is talking about. After I do a single pass, I notice my skin is dry. The lather seems thick when I do it. But I feel no slickness after I finish a pass. I only feel some slickness when I wet my face when I rinse between passes.. But again, after each pass my skin feels dry.

My shave today was not as good as yesterday. Today's shave was just like any other.. A little irritation and more weepers and a nick.. I was really looking forward to today's shave.. I thought the tabac was going to leap me forward.. Now I feel I went back a few steps.. Ugh!

Personally, I'm wondering about your blade choice. While the store-brand Israelli (Personna) blades are good, they are not the greatest. I'm wondering if you would benefit from something like an Astra SP or Gillette Silver Blue.

If your lather feels dry when you apply it you can always wet the brushes tips for extra moisture and go back to the face. I also agree with John that looking into another blade might help. :)
