    Hot Shower
Proraso aloe w/ green tea pre-shave
    Proraso Green soap
    Adidas Ice Dive AS
Face lather w/ Kent VS30 boar
    Merkur HD 34C
    Tiger SS blade (1)
    2x WTG + 1x XTG = 85% DFS

I'm still not a huge fan of this Kent brush, but I figured I might as well try and break it in a see what happens. It's a little stiff and rough, but it seems to lather good. First shave with a Tiger blade; definitely milder than the Feather as I didn't have any redness or irritation, even though it was noticeably rougher (tugging/pulling).

I used the Proraso pre-shave as a post-shave as well, left it on for about 15 minutes, then applied a little splash of Adidas AS :Animatedfrozensmily:

    Razor: Dovo Best Quality 6/8
    Brush: Omega boar
    Soap: Institut Karite
    Toner: witch hazel
    A/S: Old Spice

Silky-smooth BBS in three passes + touch-ups. The Old Spice was the perfect finish for this dreary day.

    Prep: Hot shower
Soap/cream: Portman Square English Style Cream - Gin & Tonic
    Brush: Ever-Ready C40
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable I-2 birth year/quarter, (5)
Blade: Super-Max SS (6), hand stropped
    Cold water rinse
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    M&L Florida Water

Today I wrapped up my trials of the three different samples of the Portman Square English Style Creams
that I received from Phil @ BullGoose a few weeks ago. The first week I used the Orange Vetiver, week
two I used the Tropical Coconut, and this week was the Gin & Tonic scent. All three are really pleasing
to the nose, and only linger a few minutes after the shave is complete. The Orange Vetiver, to me, smells
like one of my favorite sherbet flavors - orange/vanilla! The Tropical Coconut is a light coconut scent,
and not overpowering. The Gin & Tonic has a strong juniper/citrus scent - powerful.

I've been DE/wet shaving since last September, and I didn't had any reactions to any of the soaps/creams
that I've used, but I experienced some with two of these scents. The Tropical Coconut was great for me,
no problem there - but the Orange Vetiver, and the Gin & Tonic in particular, weren't agreeing with my skin
type. The Orange Vetiver felt tingly, no big deal there, but the Gin & Tonic felt hot on my face for all three
passes and until I applied my Witch Hazel. It's a shame too, because although I like all three of the scents
really well, the Gin & Tonic is my favorite! Has to be a disagreement between the essential/fragrance oils
and my skin type regarding those two scents - YMMV.

These creams/soft soaps/croaps perform really well though - really, really slick! They made for easy work
of my stubborn chin area, probably the best product I've used so far. Face lathering with my old, soft C40
Ever-Ready worked best for me, though I normally bowl lather. These creams rinse very easily off of the
razor & face afterward, and like I've mentioned before, the scent lingers for a short time - but no so much
as to interfere with your balms/aftershave splashes.

Really good shave today, almost as good as the last shave using this croap - considering that this blade
has 6 shaves on it, that's saying a lot! These croaps are excellent performers, and all three have great
smelling scents. My recommendation would be to choose the Tropical Coconut scent if you have had
issues with strong essential/fragrance oils - but if you aren't bothered by them, pick your favorite scent!

    80% BBS, 20% DFS

    Friday

Pre-shave: TSD ISZ pre-shave balm and a hot shower
    Soap: RazoRock Boston Tea Party
    Brush: Simpsons Colonel
    Razor: Schick G1
    Blade: Schick
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman
    Moisturizer: L'Oreal Men's Expert Vita Lift w/ SFP 15

Today's shave was a first on three fronts. It was the first time I used my new Colonel brush, the RazoRock Boston Tea Party, and the Schick G1. Not only was it the first time with the G1, it was my first time using an injector. So actually you could say there were 4 firsts today. The shave was excellent. The brush performed wonderfully, whipping up a magnificent lather from the RR BTP and the Schick was smooth as glass. I'm hooked! I got as near to BBS as one can get without actually being there. For all intents and purposes, I'm calling it BBS! That's right, I said it! :happy036:

Friday! That week was surely fast! Blinked twice and the week was over.

    • Prep: hot water rinse, hot washing cloth
    • Music: Vangelis, The Friends Of Mister Cairo (a tribute to old gangster films)
    • Brush: WS badger / boar
    • Soap: TSD Signature
    • Razor: '50s Gillette Flare Tip Rocket (thanks Bob and Jody for pointing it out for me!) I love it! :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029:
    • Blade: Derby, 2nd shave
    • 3-pass shave + touch-up
    • Result: a clean BBS :happy093:

Just what I needed today. Important client had a meeting with the City Counsel, for which meeting we made an on screen presentation. Needed the confidence which a BBS can give. It might sound silly, but a good shave gives me a power boost. Maybe because then I know that there is something which I can do well. :) Though it can be tricky to aim for a BBS, I know.

So I picked the Flare Tip Rocket, since my first shave with it last wednesday was so smooth. She didn't dissapoint me. No Sir! Guess she is going to be a favourite. Great shave. :happy108:

And yeah, the meeting was allright. Not a hitch. Of course because my shave was smooth! :p

(My youngest daughter -fifteen- is reading over my shoulder. Says she thinks it's 'cute' that I like shaving so much! Isn't she a dear? :love055: )

    Have a great weekend y'all!

    Feather (4)
    Cool Water Rinse
    Proraso ASB
    M & L Florida Water

    Friday.jpg

Off today, work tomorrow. Since I have a work-issued laptop, I like to get work done on my day's off that it easier accomplished away from the production environment. So, I spent the morning working on some projects. Stayed in my jammies until 1pm. That was nice.

Took a long hot shower, had a fantastic shave. This was my first time using the Proraso after-shave product. It is very nice, I paired the scent with the Florida Water, perfection.

:scared003: Now I am off to take Trix to the vet for his annual check-up and shots. :( Trix doesn't like the vet ... they waterboarded him the first time he was there because the vet thought he had a heart murmur so he wanted to get his heart rate up .... then Trix sliced half of one of his back foot pads almost all the way off. More vet ... more unhappy Trix.

Wish me luck, he's a bruiser!
