Last nights Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash, Sandalwood bar soap

Soap/cream- Colonel Conk Bay rum shaving soap

    Brush- Semogue 1470 boar

    Razor- Merkur 37c

    Blade- Astra SP

Post- Cold water rinse, Lucky tiger Bay Rum aftershave lotion and mentholated Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

Im not sure what I feel about this Semogue brush. It needs a bit more breaking in, but if it continues to be like it is now, I will buy another boar in July =P

Colonel has a really nice bay rum scent. But the 2 times I have used the soap i have found myself reloading for my third pass. I will try loading more next time.

How was the Proraso post? Did you wash it off or leave it on?

One of the reasons you need to reload is that your boar isn't completely broken in yet

First time i used it was with my badger silvertip but that time I know I loaded to little.

When I used the boar on the other hand I loaded much more. Is that true? That it's because it is not broken in yet? It sounds reasonable.

I had a broken in omega, promised it to my little brother when I got this semogue from Kerry. I know it needs to break in much more so I'm not judging it yet. But it feels as lot different than the omega I had =P im hoping it will be different good and not different bad =)

    Hi Friends,

today i made a "Sample" shave. Baume.be Shaving cream sample and the Baume.be Aftershave Balm. Both products highly recommended. So, here is my Sunday shave:

    Pre: hot towel
    Soap: Baume.be Shaving Cream (Sample)
Razor: Rotbart Mond Extra No. 15
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome "Red Mexicans"
    Brush: PAV Brushworks "Chief"
    Aftershave: Baume.be Aftershave Balm (Sample)

Great shave. Even my skin was very irritated from the stress at work the last days, the shaving cream and the Balm helped my skin to calm down and relax a bit. The scnet of the products is very nice. Thick creamy lather and an very moisturizing Balm at the end of the shave. Feels great.

Have a great time, take care and enjoy your shaves.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Mastro Livi Damasteel, 7/8 Full Hollow, Livi Point

Super smooth shave! This is the very first straight razor I ordered to Mastro Livi and it certainly is one of the finest in my collection. It is now about two years since I bought this razor and it always served me impeccably. Never honed or even touched up with chromium oxide paste, it still shaves like the first day. To the pleasure of this lovely shave I added a new acquisition: a Voigt & Cop shave brush, a well made brush made in Italy by two artisans and of which I am very happy. Today's shave can be certainly called a genuine and very good shave made in Italy.
    • Pre-Shave: Roberts Distilled Rose Water
    • Soap: Stirling Naked & Smooth
    • Brush: Voigt & Cop - High Mountain White Badger - Maple Burl Handle - 24 mm knot
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi Damasteel, 7/8 Full Hollow, Livi Point
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: RazorGuy Bay Rum

Max Refreshing AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

This was a really "Super" shave and so BBS as well as comfortable - not that frigid, but still quite cooling. The SuperMax Menthol cream is from Bulgaria and it has nothing at all to do with the SuperMax Blue blades which I've been using lately. The blades are from India, and I believe they're made by a completely different company. The cream has a nice scent - a little medicinal, but still very pleasant and it lathers explosively with a fairly strong cooling effect. The Max Refreshing aftershave is also from Bulgaria and it's very cooling with a scent which is very similar to Polo Original. ;) :D

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

I was smart enough to remember to change out my blade this AM, huzzah. I'm very glad my S/O gifted me with multiple jars of the One-X croap, as it's one of the very best performers I have, with a scent I really like; I'll be somewhat sad when it's finally gone. The lather was outstanding, and the Bic was super smooth and perfectly sharp, allowing me to do 3 passes with nary a nick, weeper or sign of irritation, followed up with the matching RazoRock scent with nearly BSS results.

I sent along Personna Labs. To me they shave exactly like the Med Preps and are cheaper. The Medical Preps have for hospital use only stamped on them.
