Only telling you this because I would want to know. That is not a #16. The #16 has a flat base plate on the bottom. The #16, #22, and #66 handles are all identical . Either way a beauty of a razor!

I agree the Stahly head on a normal handle is great. I have one complaint with it. The distance between the cutting edge of the blade and the end the floating safety bar is to far. I can't get under my nose very well.

Do you find that to be a problem for you as well?

Ah, I have a Van Dyke so the Moustache eliminates the nose issue. However mine seems to have very little in terms of gap because I have to be careful while head shaving when pivoting the head across the a small dimple on the back of the head near my right ear.

I'm very impressed with this Neutrogena facial wash which I bought yesterday on the way home from work - it smells nice and has a very good cooling effect which is even better than the L'Oreal. The Black Ice soap delivered its super-rich chilly lather and great skincare which resulted in a fabulous shave. The Visal gel is freezing-cold and so is the Floid Classic aftershave - they're both keepers for me. The more I use this new horsehair brush, the more I love it. No pics again today - sorry! ;) :D

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Coate’s Sandalwood Cream
Razor: Gillette Red Tip Super Speed
Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Black Super Platinum (4)
Brush: Plisson Lucite Grey Badger 22mmx52mm
    Aftershave: Krampert’s Bay Rum

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

4th shave with my Red Tip, 7 O’Clock Black, and Plisson Grey Badger. Paired with the Coate’s Sandalwood this morning, they did great: smooth, close, and nick free. I finished up with Krampert’s Bay Rum.

It was another very nice shave today with the Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap face lathered with the Frank Shaving finest badger brush. Two passes and touch ups on the neck with the Gillette Fat-handled Tech and Gillette 7 O'Clock blade left me near BBS. I finished off with a cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber WH and Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. Now, I not only look sharp and feel sharp, but I be sharp.

    Feather Hi Stainless Platinum (2)
    VDH boar
GFT Spanish Leather cream in a warm bowl

Excellent 2 pass shave with the Krona/Feather combination. Had an extra day of growth (which isn't much for me) but the whiskers disappeared effortlessly. I had lined up a tube of Coate's Sandalwood when for some reason the GFT called to me so the Coate's got put away for another day.

Today's shave was a strange one. Most of my face is BBS, other parts are DFS, and one spot is just barely acceptable. I'm not sure what my problem was, but I'm sure it was user error. At least I smell good!

    Have a great day!

    WEDNESDAY
    Straight Razor Day#3

I'm trying out another 'freshly-honed' straight razor this morning—one that has given me difficult 'tuggy' shaves in previous uses.
For this reason, I haven't made it a regular part of the rotation. This time, however, the shave with this Rep was much smoother and pleasing.
Nice, 2-pass DFS with minor DE touch-up…:happy088:

    Have a great Humpday, everyone!
