    Archaic Alchemy Eureka Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #397 2-band Badger
    Cobra Classic
    Feather Professional

    Dickinson's Witch Hazel

The Archaic Alchemy Eureka Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #397 2-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Cobra Classic and a Feather Professional Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE, 50mm with a Yaqi polished 316 SS Milano handle- Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range, simple clamping design system, small head parts, good chrome applied mostly. I get stellar results with this razor so I like to use it once a week out of my large razor rotation. Good daily driver for most folks IMO.
Blade : Schick proline P30 50mm (2)- sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. Good pairing with the Yaqi Excalibur.
Soap : Classic Mitchell's Wool fat - nice mild clean scent with great lather qualities. I just cut some slivers with my pocket knife and press into bowl and with a damp brush make a thicker lather with a little water and then apply to face and adjust water as needed for slickness on face mostly painting + gentle splaying action works well for myself. This soap makes some of the best ubber lather with any small dollop of any shaving cream it seems from my experimenting also with the MWF scent dominating usually!
Brush : Yaqi " Moka express" 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, Gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG]Excellent shave with my Yaqi SE Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

    Joeseph,

That is one killer shave setup. I know how excellent all the products you used today as I have one time or another had all in my shave den with the exception of the Ethos Bay Rum. How do you like their interpretation of Bay Rum?

    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Asda Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears with Lemon Flower Extracts Transparent Bar Soap.
    Brush: Fine 24mm Synthetic.
    Face & Head Lather.
Lather: Ach Brito Mogno Shaving soap.
Razor: Merkur 37C Slant. (Face) - Statum Platinum Chrome. (D1)
    Razor: Parker InjRzr. (Head/Dome) (Settings) 4-wtg. 4-xtg/atg.+pick-ups. - Personna Injector PTFE. (D3)

    Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Alum Rub. / Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Nivea Men Replenishing PSB./Milton Lloyd The Man Cobalt EdT.

A new shave set up to start the weekend...Maiden shave with the Statum Platinum Chrome, another blade that was kindly sent to me by a fellow member of TSR forum (UK), along with the Ninja Stainless.
The verdict?..WOW! The Statum Platinum Chrome are excellent, which my mature rhino skin type liked and paired together with the dependable Merkur 37C slant wonderfully. The characteristics of the SPC feel like an hybrid of the Treet 7 Days Platinum/Dorco prime platinum the smoothness of the Dorco PP with the assertiveness of the Treet TDP.

Another wonderfully smooth efficient blade that I've instantly liked after the first shave.

They have made an instant good impression on me, that i will be breaking my "No Buy Shaving Restraint" and place an order for some later today on Ebay as a very early birthday present to myself. Another fantastic sub-continent blade which will be added to my increasingly growing sub-continent DE blade collection.

I will pair them together with my other razors in future shaves to see if I get the same results I've had with my 37C slant shaving results.

After the first pass with them i knew they were suited to my skin type, feeling smooth & efficient.
I tend to like platinum, chrome, & teflon coated blades as I tend to find after the first shave they feel noticeably smoother. However, this could also be yours truly familiarizing to the blade in question.
I've done some research on Platinum/Chrome coated blades and it states that Chrome blades have less chromium in them than Stainless Steel blades, but since i personally only I'm using the blades for a 2-4 shaves max it doesn't make a huge difference since neither of them is going to rust in a short space of time.

As always, wet shaving soft/hardware is always a very subjective topic. YMMV.

A close comfortable face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd The Man Cobalt EdT to the chest & pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Another brilliant shave on your side Brian!

This is one for the books - a few years ago I tried the MWF soap and I loved its scent and the way it lathered but it gave me such a terrible rash and irritation all over my face and neck so I had to give it away. A year ago my father-in-law bought me a puck of the Kent soap which is apparently the identical soap with a different name and it works wonderfully for me. No rashes, irritations - nothing. Just a great postshave feeling!

    Saturday morning’s Grand Freeze:

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Rapira day 4
    MSC Peppermint Latte SS
    Prep ASB
    MSC Peppermint Latte AS Splash
    Lagerfeld Classic EdT

Wow, my face is so frozen from this setup that it seems like it’ll need all day to thaw out. My brother Fernando’s Peppermint Latte soap and aftershave are two menthol atom bombs with such a gorgeous espresso/peppermint scent. The soap’s tallow formula gives it such fantastic lather that’s so thick, rich, SLICK, and protective, the menthol sensation is POWERFUL, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The Prep did a great job of moisturizing and soothing my skin afterwards while the Peppermint Latte aftershave went on frigidly and became it’s witch hazel based there’s never any burning or stinging. Finally a little Lagerfeld eau de toilette and I’m good to go. Three passes left me mega BBS with “tears of joy” in my eyes - what a great shave this was!

Enjoy your weekend and your shaves - be well and stay safe![IMG]
