    My "BS" this morning!

    Budget Shave, that is.

Well now. As we're having an unusually mild Winter in my neck of the woods, I decided to shave off my 7 month old beard last week. Truth be told, the maintenance required (beard washes, oils, etc.) becomes tiresome after a while. Anyway, I'm back to daily shaves and feeling clean & refreshed.
The LEA cream really lathers up nicely. Thick & Slick.

    Cream: LEA
    Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
    Bowl: $ Store salsa
    Razor: Fatip Grande
    Blade: Astra SP (7)
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

    Prep: Hot towel
    Razor: Rockwell 6S – #3
    Blade: Gillette Platinum
    Brush: Rooney Heritage 2XL Jade
Soap: Gentleman’s Nod: Zaharoff Signature Leather Tabac ( C4 )
    Post: CeraVe moisturising lotion..
Fragrance: Zaharoff Signature Leather Tabac.. well, what else?

1st time with the Platinum, and although I ended up with a terrific shave, I was a little disappointed in the fact that it didn't come across as smooth as I anticipated.. 1st pass was quite tuggy, but it settled down as I got into the shave.. time will tell with that one.. maybe needs corking before 1st use. We shall see.
The Nod is exemplary in its performance, and the fact that they got the scent spot on is worthy of much applause.
Yeah, a great shave, with only a minor issue...

    Shaving cream: Cremo Refreshing Mint
    Razor: Rockwell 6C (R4 plate)
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Post shave: Gillette Gel
The best shave of my life. Seriously. A BBS shave, my face feels like marble and there's no irritation. None. Just smoooooooth ...
I'm a huge fan of the Cremo line of shaving creams and this was my maiden voyage with the Cooling flavor. It's definitely very minty (don't get it too near your eyes) but it really cools the face.
I love this razor/blade combination. It's proven to be my favorite overall.

Razor : Razorock game changer.84 with RR radio knob handle- Mfg 2018>, mild to tame mid range, well built from 316 SS with great machining and finish QC. Very enjoyable shaving, I also like to use a KAI SS blade for more blade feel and works great.
Blade : Kai SS (2) sharp & Smooth with excellent longevity. This blade works well with mild razors that need a boost in performance.
Soap : Mitchell's wool fat, great classic, great lather qualities + nice very mild clean scent. Makes also excellent ubber lather.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka Express" 26mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber, great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Irish Country side with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 2 weepers=[IMG] excellent shave with my RR GC.84 with a Kai SS blade.

Now that is amazing. The kent and Mitchells seem to have identical batch numbers as well. I am on a Fat February and have to use Mitchells/Kent for the whole month. I thought it would be difficult.....but it turns out not. My face has never felt so good.

At some point this week I’ll pull out the Kent again - it’s really a terrific soap.

    Sunday morning:

    Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Rapira day 5
    Scheermonnik Delftse Donderslag SS
    Aveeno Moisturizer
    Hega AS Splash
Calvin Klein Obsession for Men Deodorant Stick
Calvin Klein Obsession for Men EdT

Not long ago I received some fantastic stuff from the Netherlands including two Scheermonnik soaps and this Delftse Donderslag was one of them. The scent of this soap is MAGNIFICENT - it’s so spicy, mysterious, and exotic, it’s not tallow based but it lathers so thick, rich, slick, cushiony as well as protective, and it leaves a comfortable postshave feeling. I just wish the container was bigger because my Yaqi Barber Pole is a huge brush so I have to swirl quite a bit to make sure I get enough soap on it and a lot of lather ends up on the counter but I rub the excess on to my face so it doesn’t get wasted. The Aveeno moisturizer works perfectly as a balm, and the Hega aftershave from Sweden has a pleasant, neutral scent that never clashes with any other fragrance I wear - it’s also quite cooling. My wife and I are going to visit some friends of ours today so we’re wearing Calvin Klein Obsession together - she wears the women’s version and I’m wearing the men’s so we both smell so beautiful and sexy. Three passes gave me a most delightful BBS shave that was lotsa fun!

Have a good Sunday - be well and stay safe![IMG]
