    Hi Friends,

Here my Shave of the Day (23.02.2025)

    IMG_6046.jpeg
Razor: 1954 Gillette withRazoRock UFO // Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra (20) // Soap: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum // Brush: Maggard´s Marble // Aftershave: Witch Hazel - St. Johns Bay Rum

A wonderful shave. 3 passes to a complete BBS finish. The soap had tons of glide and cushion and the scent is really amazing. The Maggard 24mm Marble brush did an outstanding job. A really fantastic brush which i love deeply. Last but not least i let the Witch Hazel work it´s magic, followed by the St. Johns Bay Rum Aftershave which smells awesome. Just a little zinging to it before the scent filled the bathroom.

    A very delightful shave.

    10 out of 10

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and stay safe and healthy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Lather Catcher Sunday's Cold Water Shave

    Tom's 3D Tuxedo Brush
    1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star LC

The Archaic Eureka Shave Soap lathered well with Tom's 3D Tuxedo Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star Lather Catcher razor and the Star Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Sunday morning:

    Long hot shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Wilkinson day 5
    PAA Cold Spices SS
    Lubriderm Moisturizer
    PAA Cold Spices AS Splash

Damn, I definitely misplaced my Shulton Old Spice soaps (I have one in an Old Spice mug plus three NOS backups as well as the aftershave and cologne) so I decided to go with this PAA version that to be perfectly honest I’m not too gaga about. Yes, the scent is definitely very close to the Shulton stuff but the menthol sort of has a bit of an adverse effect on it. The soap is very good at lathering if you leave your brush relatively wet, it’s extremely slick, but the postshave care is not as good as I like. The Lubriderm moisturizer made up for that, and the Cold Spices aftershave went on really chilly - again the menthol doesn’t fit in with the scent. All in all a very easy and enjoyable three pass BBS so I can’t complain so much!

Wishing you all a great Sunday - be well and stay safe![IMG]

Thanks for your post. I usually use Derby blades no more than two shaves, but more often, just one shave. I think their first time use is good, but not so much after that first use. On the other hand, I think Feather blades are best on the 2nd through 4th shaves.

Thanks for your post. That looks like a great shave. I have two or three 1954 (my birth year) Gillettes. I have the very good PAA Bay Rum soap in the stick form also.

Hot water prep, T&H No 10. Cyril R Salter Solid soap. Pura Setola. Gillette Red Tip BRG replated B4. Derby Premium (day 2). Imperial Leather. Prada Ocean Luna Rossa
    Score = 9.9 / 10
    Damage: none

Same lathering technique as with the MWF. Soaked brush in water ~ 5 min. Shook dry. 50 swirls from the dry puck. Slowly adding 7 cc water. Perfect glossy lather that held its composure and structure throughout the shave. Nice subtle scent, sort of nutty scent to my nose anyway

So this Tallow soap lathers well
But the Fat can't, well not for me anyway, not yet!
    I will be back!

Oh boy that Cryogen soap and aftershave are bona fide menthol atom bombs!

    Great shave my friend!
