Brush: Vintage Stanhome Badger Soap: Palmolive Stick Razor: '34 Rolls Stainless Steel set (rare & elusive Series 3) AS: TOBS Sandalwood Great 2+ pass shave in spite of that funky collapsible Rolls handle. I definitely prefer the newer threaded handle.
Monday, February 21, 2011 Pre-shave Soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: Merkur Progress XL Blade: Treet Platinum Brush: EJ Best Badger Cream: TOBS Shaving Shop A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Speick Splash A very fine shave but this was #5 on the blade, so I'll change it. The Treet Platinum is inexpensive and I find that it's not worth the chance of poor performance to try for more than five shaves per blade.
Monday Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted Kenya, BLACK Soap: Vintage Old Spice Brush: Treville Daxer Razor: Merkur Futur @ 2.5 Blade: ASR Platinum Chrome, day 1, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's Rose Petal WH, hand strop blade 'Stache Wax: Steve's Own Shave Rating: 4 Blades Just wasn't feelin' the menthol this morning. Maybe that's what kept it from being 5 blades instead of just the 4. Yeah, had to be.

Feb, 22 There are day of slow and pleasant and days of run and shout... The second one hits me today... Merkur 23C/Wilkinson Sword#2 Vie-Long horsehair brush Fitjar Miklagard soap (old formula, no tallow) ceramic bowl Fitjar Miklagard ASB The bathroom been repaired and now looks like after hand grenade explosion. I moved to kitchen for shaving. But there were some problems with my water supply. So I tried the hot wet towel instead of a shower Shaving on a run gifted me with a nice set of nicks, but ASB took care of them. I even cannot say was whe whole thing bad or good... :happy102 :happy102 :happy102 Happy shaving to all!
This evening: Ern 5/8 Tried several new additions to my den, namely the strop, brush and soap. My opinions of each will follow. Pasted paddle strop Buffalo hide strop from straight razor designs Futur silvertip Vanilla bourbon soap from srd Alum block Tobacco a/s balm 3. Passes, bbs....the shave wasn't what I've come to expect from mr Ern, so I believe it's time to try touching up a razor on the new hones. It will be my first attempt. Loved the futur silvertip, although it is on the small side, the long handle is great. The buffalo hide strop is of superb quality, if I could only keep one strop (I have three), it would be the strop. The vanilla bourbon soap is great also, the fragrance is not overpowering, it did well at face lathering which is what I normally do.
Hi, Habibi. This is a soft soap in a red bowl made in Torino /Italy. The scent is light almond with a hint of orange. The quality of the soap is excellent. Be sure to get a bowl when you come once to Torino. You can see it here http://up.picr.de/5029625.jpg in the back row in the middle of the picture.
