I wanted to say earlier that this shave I had was bitterly-cold and beautiful. My new Plissoft brush gave me mega-frigid, rich and slick lather from the Glacial Obsidian soap and the matching balm added so much extra freeze with perfect soothing as well as moisturizing. The Arctique aftershave felt so intensely-cold that I felt some tingling from it for two hours. BBS in two easy passes! :happy005:

image.jpeg Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech NDC (declared 1947) Birth Year
Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip 2014
Mug: Old Spice (early glass Mug 01) 1947 first glass mug Birth Year
    Cream: Castle
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Tommy Bahamas Martinique

The Gillette Tech is a great razor, and it is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade. Nice lather from the Castle and the Silvertip to get off to a good start. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup, smooth. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm and then some Tommy Bahamas Martinique. I haven't found a Tommy Bahamas product that I don't like, as they are all unique and pleasant. Y'all have a good one!

Thanks! I did enjoy it quite a bit. I never would have thought I would use a straight, but I'm glad I took the plunge!

Love the larger bowl. My grandmother used to collect similar items from sacks of corn meal or flour or something. BTW, very nice layout and picture. That was during WWII.

Very nice str8! I have 2 that I don't use that often, and I alway go slow an steady. I can do about 80% of my face and neck. It is definitely a different experience, and it helped me shave better with my DE razors. Did you strop it before you used it? I do before and after I shave. :eatdrink047:

Thank you! Larry over at Whipped Dog has the best knots. This is the largest he made back then and at $50 shipped I couldn't go wrong.

Today I used the same as before and had the same goal of no bleeding. It wasn't to be. Just as I was finishing up with no injuries, I sliced my left jaw again. Same spot as before. This time seemed like a deeper cut. Four shaves in a row were blood free. I have had five shaves off this one blade. Every other blade I have tried I replaced after three. I think I will go back to the Personna blade. It maybe my technique that has improved and not that the Kai blade is so good.

Ive found that a 2.5 setting yields a great shave. I really like any of the Russian blades in mine (Ladas, Voskhod, Rapira).

    My first injector shave[IMG]
Razor: my "messed up" new to me E4 injector
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
I'm definitely a fan of this horse hair brush. Amazing for face lathering.
Despite the spring possibly being tempered with, the blade loaded just fine (at least to my eyes, this is my first injector mind you)
Loaded with a Chinese Schick blade (dang these are sharp)
Since this was my first injector shave I went slow and steady and did my best to find the proper shave angle, which I'm pretty sure I found for the most part. One thing that was great about this razor was how easy the shave was on the neck, even for my first injector shave, it may have been one of the smoothest neck shaves I have had. The only place I had troubles with was the chin area, where I did get a pretty decent cut during my second pass. Also had another cute next to my lips, but that was due to a rather large pimple, and despite my effort to do extra extra easy over it I cut it as soon as the blade passed over it, oh well. Maybe my angle was not proper over it or maybe it was going to get cut no matter what, hard to tell. But I also took some pics with a blade loaded in (second one, to follow advice of BillyFergie) so here they are[IMG][IMG]

Sounds encouraging. I bought a Parker SR1. Have yet to try it. I've since read that that is a poor way to start. Your setup looks pretty nice.
