i was away almost the whole day, so i only had time for a relaxing shave. Not for a picture this time... But i enjoyed my shave a lot.

Pre: hot shower
Soap: Mickey Lee´s Soap Drunken Goat (sample)
Brush: L´Occitane Synthetic
Razor: iKon Slant
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome "Red Mexicans"
Aftershave: CH Pitralon
Post: Unrefined Shea Butter

I have to say, that i LOVE the soap. Starting with a great Choco-cookie scent (very very nice) and endet with a great feel on my skin. When i buy a soap in the next time, this one will definetly be counted in. Great soap. The combination of all things today fitted very well together.

SOTD 3-01-2015

48 hours since last shave
Hot Shower and Prep -Neutorgena Men's Invigorating Face Wash & used some conditioner on the whiskers.
Gillette Ball End Tech circa 46'-49'
Blade - Voskhod (1)
Brush - Plisson Synthetic
Lather -Wm. Neumann's & Co. Signature 1907
Bowl - My brand new Fine Lather Bowl
Post - Warm water rinse, Maggard Razor Alum, wait 30 seconds then cool water rinse, Neutorgena Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion

I thought I would give Voskhod a second try. The first try using my Merkur 34C HD was very disappointing. The blade seemed to hardly cut at all. However this morning was a great three pass shave = BBS. Not sure if it just works better in my Tech or if my first blade was a dud. - This shave was high on the aggressive side but what little bit of irritation seemed to pass quickly.

This was also my first day using the Fine Lather Bowl - it worked extremely well. No "clanks" like my clam chowder bowl. The Neumann's exploded with just a few swirls of the brush. The sides do get a bit slippery when wet so will need to be careful to keep a hold on the handle.

Preshave: Just face wash with soap and hot water.
Razor: Old Schick Injector
Blade: Schick Injector w/Krona edge
Soap: Arko stick
Brush: VDH Boar
Bowl: VDH
Post Shave: AOS After Shave Balm Lavender

I use the bowl to soak brush and to hold brush. I face lather the Arko.

This is the exact same Schick as my father used and I learned on. I just tried it once cause I was thinking about him! Too mild of a razor for my liking but it will go in a drawer and get used once in awhile!

 

March 1, 2015 "Sunday Shave"

Prep: Hot shower, Dove soap to clean face
PreShave: Homemade Preshave oil with Peppermint
Brush: Omega Boar 10065
Soap: Arko
Razor: Merkur Barber Pole
Blade: Astra SP
Post Shave: Gentlemen Jon Alum Block, Witchhazel Peppermint Infused, Nivea cooling balm, Proraso Pre/Post, Splash of Clubman Musk.

Thoughts: Just another great Sunday morning shave even though im super late on my post! I'm really enjoying the new Barber Pole from Merkur. This is my third shave with it and the razor has come along beautifully as if I have used it for years. Went back to the Arko, after I made the promise to myself to finish off some stuff I've had for a while . The Clubman Musk is always nice and makes for a nice finish to a great shave.
