Gary, how does the Konsul shave compare to a Slim or other Gillette adjustables? That's great to have the case and instructions with it. Very cool!:eatdrink047:

Much more aggressive than the Slim. I am shaving with it starting at the 1 setting and it is every bit as aggressive as a Slim on 3 or 4. No surprise because the gap is much larger per setting than the Slim. I think people in the US do not realize fully that the Soviets made razors for a variety of shaving needs (mild to aggressive) even though it was a Communist country and the production was command controlled. See more about it below.

    Nivea Men's Face Wash
    Tabac
    Jayaruh WC3 Pure Badger
    Schick Krona
    Personna Super Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla

The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC3 Pure Badger Brush. Two passes with my Schick Krona and a Personna Super Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Hot Shower and Prep -Nivea Men Sensitive Skin Face Wash
Gillette Ball End Tech circa 46'-49'
    Blade - Astra SP (1)
    Brush - Parker Best Badger
Lather - Wm. Neumann & Co. Signature 1907
Post - Warm water rinse, Maggard Razor Alum, wait 30 seconds then cool water rinse, WH, RazoRock Problem Solver Lime AS Splash.
Astra SP seems to do better than the Ladas in the Tech and the Ladas edges out the Astra in the Merkur 34C HD.

Still had to do quite a few touch ups with a just a two pass (how many touch ups = a 3rd pass?)

Any way end result was a nice Work Day Shave

Glad you had a successful initial experience with that wonderful soap! Mixing MdC Fougére with The Veg in the same shave is against the law in many states….or at least, should be. ;)

    Razor: Cobra Classic
Blade: Feather Artist Club Pro (D2)
    Brush: Thäter 4125/1 2-band
    Bowl: Turkish 5” Copper Bowl
Pre Shave Scrub: SPAtopia Dead Sea Scrub
Pre Shave Oil: Homemade Jasmine Orange Vanilla
Shave Soap: Barrister & Mann Lavanille
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: WSO Vanillawood

Have to say I am looking forward to tomorrow's shave as the Cobra Classis this morning impressed me. Have to admit if it wasn't for the low price I found this being sold for last week I never would have thought of trying a Cobra or a Mongoose as I couldn't rationalize the cost of the SE blades being 4-10 times more expensive per blade compared to a Super Iridium, GSB, or the Gillette Spoilers I picked up on the cheap. Of these the SI cost me 15 cents each and the other two were less than eight cents each and I average a dozen or more shaves per blade so to me and just me, the cost per shave wasn't there. Now having said that, I have to say that I could have stopped after one pass this morning as the razor/blade combo was that efficient but I did my normal two pass with no touch ups required. Feather DE performance typically fall off rather quickly for me after 4 shaves so I am curious to see if I can push these Feather Pro's to half dozen or more. Only complaint I have with the Cobra is latching the blade into the lock position was a b**ch but I will not have to worry about it shaking loose. Razor was quite comfortable in my hands with the weight and handle design allowing a smooth effortless shave. Looks like this one is going to be a keeper after all.

I used an aftershave balm yesterday and had several pimples appear on my neck. I should have recalled this reaction from 25 years ago, but I'm a slow learner. Today, back to the tried and true alcohol based aftershave. 2 passes and I am good for the day-both passes were from top to bottom. It works for me and my face with this razor.
