Tonight was a shave for the ages and I didn't see it coming. Danny (DSLAZAR9) inspired me to cut rotation and pull out the Weber razor. With a new Iridium Super blade, it was definitely a fine cutting tool. One of my favorite razors.

But the star of the show tonight was the Vintage Williams. I gotta admit, I wasn't looking forward to this. Around Christmas, I tried Modern Williams and it was a miserable experience, but I promised myself I wouldn't give up until I tried the vintage. I was so skeptical I had a tub of RazoRock next to me on standby.

I loaded my brush by just holding the puck in my hand and working the brush over it. I figured if it didn't work out, I'd just throw it out the bathroom window. I started with a drier brush than usual and immediately the brush started to get very sticky and matty and only took 30 secs. to load. But I wasn't taking any chances. Still holding the puck, I rubbed it all over my face like I do with hard soaps. Right before I took the brush to my face, I looked in the mirror and thought "that might be too much soap. Nah, it's Williams."

I've never seen so much lather. It got to the point that when I went to dip my brush in water, I would just dunk the whole brush under. Shocked, I started talking dirty to the VW and the dirtier I talked, the more lather I got. I owe an apology for the bad things I've said about Williams in the past. Well, half the things I've said...modern Williams still sucks but this little beauty is a winner.

This was a real nice shave a three pass DFS+. I love the Proraso white soap it leaves the skin feeling great.

This razor as such a fine blade and takes a sweet edge, two days growth wiped out in a two pass shave, very smooth with no irratation you know that because there's very little feedback from the Alum, out of my vintage razors this ones quickly becoming my favourite.

 

She's an absolute beauty....but then your whole set-up looks great...I see you and Oscar Wilde share the simplest tastes....

Another ice-cold and delightful shave this morning which was so much fun. The Egyptian version of Ingram is definitely cooler than the UK stuff, and it has such a moisturizing and protective feeling. I think many of us know the beauty of Osage Rub.

My very first shave with a SE and it was a winner!! Nice and smooth,real close and BBS in 3 passes.No weepers or irritation and no razor burn.However I just didn't have the pits to try a head shave,I'm gonna do maybe 3 or 4 face shaves and work up to to Thunderdome By then I should have the coated blades which may make the shave even smoother.

Beautiful shave this morning. I've revisited Bolzano blades a few times and they always had less than pleasing results. The Flare Tip calmed the blade down and I got a very comfortable BBS in 3 passes. I don't' mind one bit. P.160 was as always just pure perfection, though as you can see from the pic I forgot how much it lathers, so....yeah, that was how much was left after 3 passes. OOPS. Ran out of Old Spice Classic. Will have to pick up more when I get to Edmonton, that and I really want to buy a vintage glass bottle that they used to come in, and just refill that puppy up.
