I, too, can recommend the Vanilla. @SHAVEWIZARD420 is right-on. Sweet but in a good way.

    Jayaruh #49 Boar
    Pal Adjustable
    Schick Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #49 boar brush. Two passes with my Pal Adjustable razor and a Schick Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I just got the Blackbird and I tend to test drive new razors for a bit, :) I love shaving with my SS! Great shaver. I never have swapped a blade into a different razor, I use a blade twice and bin it. Today's blade was done after 1 shave..

SOTD March 01/2016 (snow storm theme) See smaller picture. Shot this evening.

    Razor - 1949 Aristocrat Jr.
    Brush - Muhle XL synthetic
    Soap - Proraso sensitive
Post - Thayers W.H.\TBS Cocoa stick
    Bowl - Tinned copper Turkish
    image.jpeg
Shot on large mirror reflecting ceiling.

Great shave with the Aristocrat Jr. Few passes needed to achieve BBS yet not harsh. Maybe the added weight of the razor. This thing feels like it has torque as opposed to HP. Different feel from other SS or rockets. Maybe since this is my only British variant. Will use with longer beard growth.

Only one shave out of a lab? That seems like an unusually short life span

If I feel the slightest tug I get rid of a blade. Comfort over Frugal.
I have enough blades to last me a very very long time.

It's wonderful stuff, too. No mistake it's Pinaud. Very much like Clubman, but with greenery.

I had not heard of this AS before, so I had to pick it up.

Another great night of shaving! I tried a new soap, Van der Hagen, I liked the scent and it lathered and protected well. I have only used Arko until today which lathers if you look at it so I was unsure what to expect but I was pleased with it.
    PSO- Peppermint homemade
    Razor- Gillette Flare Tip
    Blade- Astra SP (2)
    Brush- Omega synthetic
    Soap- VDH puck
    ASB- Nivea men cooling
I went WTG, WTG and ATG tonight, first time in 5 days going ATG but I was happy with the results. Very little irritation but definitely more than a XTG third pass. I did end up with a smoother shave but I felt a little sharpness from the alum tonight. I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Looks like the VDH luxury soap. That is a good lather and slick soap. It was my first wet shaving soap and readily available most places.
