    SE Saturday
My second shave with the OCMM was excellent. For Flint yielded yogurty thick slick lather to my HIS brush. This set up my stubble for three smooth, drama free passes. The FF aftershave left my skin feeling well cared for in every way.
Now let's see if this blade rusts immediately like the last one. I am ordering some PTFE coated blades to see if they are better.
    Prep: Van Yulay PSO
Soap: Through The Fire Fine Craft For Flint
    Brush: HIS XL
    Razor: Gem Open Comb MicroMatic
    Blade: Rite-Aid Blade (1)
    AS: TTFFC For Flint

26th shave with the Personna 74. Today, I had to do a bit more clean up than normal, but I still got a close, smooth, nick and tug free shave. There is a Personna 74 thread.
(Please don't comment here. The SOTD threads are already too cluttered-3-4 times the pages as other boards for the same time period.)

    Saturday

    Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Gatlinburg
    Soap: Reef Point-Peerless
Razor: Gillette Red Tip Super Speed
Blade: Personna 74 Tungsten Plus (26)-Third Razor
    Brush: Ever-Ready 50R Premium Silvertip-20mmx55mm
    Aftershave: Burberry Brit

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Reef Point Peerless today. 20 seconds to load the Ever-Ready Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna 74 still cruising along. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Burberry Brit.

A most enjoyable shave which was dedicated to my beautiful and adoring wife. It was her who gave me this awesome Razorock One X soap and aftershave as a gift. The soap lathered like a maniac with the help of my wonderful Plissoft brush, and the aftershave gave me its elegant, classy, masculine scent with some mild cooling. BBS from my Junjie/Astra combination! :happy088: :happy088:

    Jumped in, face first!

My first attempt at a SR. Yes, I already know, but there is going to be a steep learning curve. I attempted both cheeks and part of my neck, and after two weepers and little results, I finished with the Futur.

I know blade angle and pressure have alot to do, but I'm thinking about trying with a heavier blade(Beaver brand) next attempt. I know it will be just as sharp but maybe more forgiving than the thinner Wilbert blade...maybe?

I also can't see my face for crap with my hand in front while shaving vice with a DE. And switching hands will definitely take a while to get used to.

Luckily my two weepers, that were running pretty good(right cheek and under left ear), were only about a half inch long and were done bleeding by the time I was done. Needless to say, no alcohol AS today, nice cool sensitive lotion is in order.

I haven't fully slit my throat yet, so I will continue to practice and look forward to enjoying the somewhat lost art of straight razor shaving.

    B2 Mongoose
    Feather Super Pro (3)
    Kent BK4 silvertip badger
    Arko
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and CC Bay Rum

As part of my SE focus, this is my third shave with the Mongoose loaded with the Feather Super Pro blade. Today's shave was two-pass (ATG & XTG) with near BBS results. This razor is heavy compared to a DE, but it feels sure and steady in the hand. The stock Dr. Bomber handle has a nice grip. The angle is relatively easy to find, and the Super Pro blade mows down anything in its path. The blade edge is stiff compared to a DE, and the cutting sounds are subdued. I'm getting a weeper or two with each shave, but this should be minimized as I get re-accustomed to an SE. The Arko made a great lather, as usual, and the CC Bay Rum was the perfect finish.

    Have a super weekend!

Hot Water prep & massage with Argan Oil
    Gold Dollar 208
    Hans Baier Silver Tip Badger
    RazoRock Chicago Tallow Soap
    Thayers Original Witch Hazel

I got this Shave Ready Gold Dollar 208 a couple of weeks ago..I had my First Shave with it Today..I ended up with a Mixed BBS/DFS Result..Its the first time that I have used a Stainless Steel Blade Straight..It sure feels different to my Swedish Made Carbon Steel straights..The blade in the Gold Dollar is very rigid compared to my Carbon Steel Straights & I found it far more Forgiving..I like it a Lot..More than I can say for this Crappy & Cruddy RazoRock so called Tallow Soap..:prrr:

    Its a Pure Numpties Soap..:happy102:

    Prep- hot face wash
    Razor - Sheraton
    Blade - Gillette platinum plus
    Brush - trader joes synthetic
    Soap - tabac
Post - witch hazel, trader joes balm
    Cologne - citrus musk

After a little bit chasing in shaving I got a DFS . There are a couple small spots I missed but I'm thinking this is the standard I'm going for. Bbs is great but to me too hard achieve. I'll let come when it comes.
I tried hard today to work on my lather. I want slickness and I want it bad!! So I loaded my brush for 30 seconds. I threw in a lot of water and went to town on the soap. I probably worked it for a couple of minutes. I was thinking for a bit that the water I added was too much because the lather looked soupy. But after a couple of minutes it was creamy and thick. And again no slickness. the lather looked and felt exactly like it does normally. The difference is that this time I added a crazy amount of water. Normally I add drops of water. This time I poured quite a bit . Oh well .
The shave went great a little irritation on the upper lip, but I'm ok with that.
    Happy shaving gents!!!

image.jpeg Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3) (original case and blade pack with instructions)
    Brush: Maggard Synthetic 24/57 2016
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Coffee Mug: Old Spice Traditional Style Promotional Mug 1970 manufactured by the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company around 1970
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS Frosted Glass 1960s

Whipped up the Truefitt&Hill No 10 in a minute with the Maggard . I like the Syntheric brushes, no fuss and they cleanup fast. Nice slick cushion and I really like the scent of the No 10. The heavy handle and head of the Slim gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure with a Feather blade set on 5. WTG and XTG on my face and neck. Then ATG set on 3. Very smooth. The Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera felt good on my face and that natural scent was nice and fresh. After cleanup, I smoothed on some Jack Black, and then some Vintage Old Spice Lime AS from 1960s. This AS is my favorite, and it is the real deal. Y'all have a good one!
