Same set up as two days before (as it works so good :D ) , but today with a pic for all you visual types ;)
    Prep: shower
SC: Ralon with 2 drops of peppermint oil
    Brush: Semogue 2000
Razor and blade: Shavette loaded with and Astra SP
Post: styptic pencil and Pitralon Classic AS

Bowl lathering Ralon with the 2000 requires a bit more cream, since the brush hogs it up , but it's worth every drop and with the price under 1,50$ per tube it's not really an issues :D
And of course I still overlather :bounce015:

Well, I'm sorry to have to say this, but that won't change. I gave mine to my brother in law who happens to like the scritching.

Very good shave. Smooth and very enjoyable. I bought this cream on occasion and really glad I did. Somehow it works very well with my straights.

    Preshave - Hot Shower
    Cream - Arko Citrus
    Brush - Omega Boar
    Blade - Astra SP
    Razor - Gillette 1952 SS
A/S - Arko Cool Balm, OS

Great shave today. Four Pass BBS. I like the Arko cream. It has great lather, Great scent before and during lathering and shaving. It has this weird scent after its gone though. I can't describe it with any other metaphor besides old vitamins. Anyways the smell doesn't linger on my face but in the boar brush it will. Other than that the Arko cool balm is frigid. :Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily: and I love it.

    • LORD Emofresh SC
    • Frank Silvertip Fan Brush
    • Gillette Old Type Single Ring OC
    • Croma Diamat Blade (2), Astra Stainless Blade (3)
    • Vifrex ASG
    • Alcolado Glacial ASL
I am amazed at how a razor so old can shave so well. The Gillette Old Type requires a little more skill to use but wow, can it ever deliver a good shave. BBS in three passes without even trying. I started with the Croma blade but I swapped it out on the first pass because it just wasn't cutting the whiskers in the chin area. The Astra blade on the third use was better than the Croma on the second use. So quite likely, the Cromas will not be a sharp enough blade for me. I will try them again one more time, just to be sure. The LORD Emofresh is a very nice cream that builds a good lather very easily. A "green" themed finish today. Both the Vifrex and Alcolado are very cooling. :smiley freezing:

    Cheers, Lyndon

    Cream: Pacific Shave Cream.

Today I did 3 passes; WTG-XTG, ATG; and touch-up with the Shavette...I even did the bottom lip area :happy096:.
I did make 2 swipes with the Injector where the red of my lips meet white...but other than that it was all shavette...
And the results are very clean and very close...:happy108:

This would never have happened if Steve hadn't called that 'Straight 8 Week"....Thanks Steve
and thanks to the people who make Styptic Pencils and Band-Aids for helping me get through that week...

Another great shave - every time I use the Palmindaya cream I feel like I'm in an old-time barbershop because of the scent, which I love. The lather is so rich and easy to create and it has a very nice cooling sensation. The Polar Ice aftershave is an absolute necessity for my rotation. Sorry for not showing any pics today. ;) :D

Nice shave this morning, It's the first test run with the 25mm H.I.S. knot (on the right). I'll move the knot up 2mm tomorrow and try again. Though, I must admit, it was pretty nice right where it was at.

When something works works, keep doing it. Well this razor works. Today I paired with the SuperMax SP, just an outstanding and close shave. I love how the Proraso Red always leaves my skin feeling conditioned after the shave, it is a great soap.
