I haven't been posting the last few days because of lack of time. But I have been getting great shaves...I've fallen into a groove of 2 passes with the Sedef Shavette and a 3rd pass with my Schick I2...All shaves have been bloodless and super close....And fun factor is 'off the charts'...

    Arko Shave Stick/Omega 10029
Sedef Shavette/Perma-Sharp Super (WTG ATG passes)
    Schick I2/EMS (clean up pass)
    Old Spice AS/Arko Cool ASB

Veli, have you ever tried the Lavender of Bulgaria cream? I was told it's the same product with a different scent. The Rose of Bulgaria cream gives tremendous lather and skincare but the scent is.........not really my taste! :)

    Blasphemy Sunday! (02-10-13)

    * Shower
    • Soap: Gillette Hydrator Body Wash
    • Shampoo: Head & Shoulders 2-n-1 Hair Endurance

    * Shave
    • Pre-Shave: Hot shower, Nivea Face Scrub
    • Soap/Cream/Lather: Barbasol Soothing Aloe
    • Razor: Schick Quattro Titanium
    • Brush: No brush
    • Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG, Touch-up
    • Post-Shave: Warm water rinse, cold water rinse, Witch Hazel, Gillette Aftershave Lotion for Sensitive Skin, Aqua Velva Ice Blue
    • Blood report: No blood spillage

Blasphemy Sunday. I love being versatile with my shaves, keeps it interesting. I have no problem with canned stuff. It doesn't compare to real lather from cream or soap, but it works. It cushioned very well, however, it was lacking in the razor glide department due to lack of moisture in the lather. I couldn't attribute that to the Quattro as it's a brand new razor.
    Have a great day!

Shave of the Day Update 2/10/2013

About 12 hours later and my face is still pretty smooth, gotta give that shave a DFS for sure! I noticed that about an hour after my shave, when my face juices had time to meld I guess, that my shave felt much closer than it did when just shaved.

Prep: Brush soaked in hot water, hot shower
Razor: Merkur 37C HD Slant Bar
    Blade: Croma Diamant Stainless (1)
Brush: Vintage Stanley Home Products restored with TGN 22mm Fan High Density Finest Two-Band Badger Knot
Cream: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E Shaving Cream
ASB: Nivea for Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm (old formula, not pictured)
AS: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue
Post: Cold Water Rinse, splash of aftershave

First use of Slant razor. I was considering purchasing a Bakelite slant as a starter but with the pricing being more expensive than a Merkur 37C, there was no way that I was going to spend more money on a plastic razor than one made from metal. I may be crazy, but I am not stupid!

The first thing I noticed upon unboxing was how scary this thing looks. My wife who typically thinks that all of my razors look the same had even made a comment over it's rugged appearance and how it looked nothing like any other razor I had before.

I paired it with my new favorite German blade, the Croma Diamant Stainless as it has been performing well in every razor I have tried it in.

I was expecting a very aggressive razor, but it is not, in fact I find it very mild in it's feel, so mild that I seriously looked at the head to make sure I had put in a blade, as it was that smooth.

Not only was a blade installed, the lather was filled with stubble, so I continued on. What I noticed was how natural the razor head felt against my face. After the first pass I rinsed my face and inspected before apply more lather. Very impressive results from the first pass, my face was better than a DFS and my neck and jawline where much better that most first passes.

I ended up doing two complete passes with some light touch ups on my neck. First impression is very positive instant love of this razor and a permanent place in my rotation. I am going to use it for the next few days to get a really good feel for it, but at this point I am considering getting rid of a few more razors.

I really am a minimalist and very OCD about clutter. I would much rather have a few razors that perform effortlessly than a huge collection of razors just to showcase how many razors that I own. We all got into this for one reason, better shaves. It is all about the shave and how well they perform, not how large of a collection we have. Why hang on to something that never gets used? Just a waste of shelf space in my opinion, unless of course you are trying to over compensate for something else.

    Good Morning All:

I used to not enjoy the Jagger 89. First, it was slippery. Second, it was not giving me a close shave. So I sold it.

Fast forward to a 105 lb smaller me, and I am loving the heck out of the Jagger. I got a Barleycorn which is a much firmer grip and it provides a great shave.

    I used:

    Jagger 89 Barleycorn
    Iridium Blade
    Omega Midget Dual Hair
    Vitos pre and post
    TOBS Coconut
    Witch Hazel
    Alcalado Glacial

A good time was had by all :)

The 37C is one of those razors I regret getting rid of, it's wonderful to use even on a daily basis and is surprisingly not picky about blades at all. We'll see how my incoming Mergress goes but this is one razor I may be buying again!
