Nice weekend shave with all but favorite set up

    OCMM/Ted Pella's GEM PTFE
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Tabac soap
    Cold water splash

    Just superb!

    Neolithium I am Canadian, eh

I may go back to the mug when I get home ;) I've been itching to play with my vintage Old Spice mug once again....and been tempted to get back into larger brushes - I suppose it's because I've been stuck with such small travel brushes lately...

A fine shave but I think the hones are calling to this razor, it was my best performer but has been used enough now to have just gone off the boil. That and my honing abilities have improved so the benchmark is rising.

No shave Saturday. Wanted to get more volume from the beard.
    Sunday after a hot shower:
Merkur Progress on a 6.5 setting
    Daln shave cream
    Ever Ready boar brush
Feather Blade with 3 shaves on it

Got another nick from the mighty Merkur, right on the chin. Between that Progress and a very slightly bent half blade in the Magic shavette on Friday, I am beginning to look like I have been on the wrong end of a fight with the cat. I do believe I am going to shelve the Merkur for a while and concentrate with the Gillette adjustable.
3 pass shave and despite the nick, a very smooth and clean shave. Actually a BBS shave.
Clubman Special Reserve A/S and a couple of sprays with the Dirty English cologne and I am feeling very much like a Pirate ready for shore leave.

Thanks! Soap is great. Much better than modern Williams. Silky, protective lather. The scent is a bit plain, but sometimes that's
a good thing, especially since my wife's favorite scent is unscented.

Though it looks like it would be, it's not a screw mechanism, one end just slides into the other.

Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 - 1st evening shave as I was lazy this morning and HATE shaving Monday mornings (I like the snooze button)

    Merkur HD 34C
    Feather new hi-stainless
    TBS Synthetic brush
Proraso pre-shave (aloe & green tea)
    C&E Nomad cream
    C&E Nomad AS balm

Well, my fear of the feather is gone. And my love for Proraso has begun.

3 pass DFS with 2 nicks in my normal locations - I have two spots where I seem to have a perma-acne-bump, that I nick everytime I shave. Other than that, a little bit of red dots on one side of my neck (I'm slowly figuring my neck out ... slowly; i swear my beard grows in every direction in 1/2 inch patches) and a couple of small rough spots (these are getting fewer with each shave actually) it was a thoroughly enjoyable shave.

Tried something new. Mixed a dot of cream with soap... Not to shabby.

    Sunday!

    Muhle R106
    The Colonel
    Gillette Spoiler (3)
    DR Harris Marlborough Soap
    DR Harris Marlborough AS

It was a good shave today! I love the scent of Marlborough! The spoiler is feeling a bit rough, but I should be able to squeak out 1 or 2 more (2 pass) shaves.

The Kent cream reminds me of The Real Shaving Company's creams. Probably won't replace it when it's gone, though.
    TRSC is cheaper.

It is a De Vergulde Hand. (see more about the brush below)

btw, I rarely make typos. I misspell like crazy when I type, but I read and re-read my posts. Passing along info is pointless if it isn't passed along correctly, IMO.

That's the one I asked Mike to send me. Thanks again, Mike! I love this little brush!

It reminds me of the Omega 10048, only a smaller handle.

The packaging is pretty dang cool, too. A stand and a travel tube! The bottom of the stand is open.
