    Sunday's

    ZCOLDWATER.jpg

    Nivea Men's Face Wash
    Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap
    Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip
    Merkur 37c Heavy Duty Slant
    Personna Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Barbasol AS

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip Brush. Two passes with my Merkur 37c Heavy Duty Slant and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barfbasol after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Yesterday was the 39th year from my dad's passing (I was but a wee lad) and I still miss him. I hope you have thought today of the good memories.

Got a nice valentines gift from my wife. Edwin Jagger pre shave. So I decided to put a hold on testing the new Russian blades and the Stealth slant and have a nice relaxing shave with tried and tested products...and this new pre shave.
The pre shave worked well and combined very smoothly with Tobs cream. A very enjoyable shave.

Pre shave - Edwin Jagger Pre shave
    Razor - Pils DE
Brush - Whipped Dog 22mm Silvertip
Lather - Taylor of old Bond Street , Jermyn St scent
    Blade - Ladas
    Aftershave - Clubman Special Reserve

Hope you and your wife have a fun trip. As an Englishman I have to ask. Why did you pick the East coast?

    SUNDAY
    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
Inaugural shave for this unique and rare straight razor made in Austria by the Böhler (started 1870) company. The company was started by two Jewish brothers, Albert and Emil Böhler. Many of their steel products bore the stamped name, 'Böhler Stahl' (steel) or accompanied by a stamped 'Star of David.'
Here's an example: German army pick axe (circa 1915) with the Böhler logo and 'star.'
    SafariScreenSnapz258.jpg
With the rise of the Nazi party in the early 30's, the company was compelled to remove the 'star' icon from all items produced by Böhler. <end of History Lesson>
I estimate this straight razor dates to the latter 1920s to early 1930s. Two 'Stars of David' stamped on the tang. The razor took a wonderful edge off the hones and felt very smooth on the face. A very loud razor (full-hollow) that feels very nice in the hand. Pretty to look at as well.
    Have a blessed Sunday, all!

Thank you. It is my favorite and came with the brush. They show up on the bay occasionally in Cobalt Blue and Black.

    SOTD feb 14th:

Prep:hot water and proraso green pre-shave
Razor: gillete slim adjustable on 7
    Blade: Voshkod
    Soap: Tiki redwood
    Post: home-mix aftershave

I tried out a Voshkod blade today and quite liked it. Tiki also performed quite well, and the new Redwood scent I have works much better for me than Set Sail.
