    Palmolive shave stick soap
    Rooney Genuine horn brush
    HD Rocket
7 o'clock super platinum black box day 2
    Proraso AS splash.

One of the better shaves I have had in awhile.
I had forgotten how good the Palmolive shave stick is, I need to use this more often.

    Saturday 1/31 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
      [*]Brush: C&E BBB
      [*]Soap: The "FAT"
      [*]Razor: '55 Gillette Diplomat
[*]Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge (shave 2)
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & C&E Sandalwood ASB
[*]EDT: Nine Flags Manzanilla Shaving Cologne

[*]Result: Great BBS shave today. Absolutely no blood. The "FAT" lathered up quickly and easily on my face. Oh, my face, what a face for lathering with The "FAT" :D . Wife surprised me last evening when she brought up a box full of vintage EDTs and A/S from my younger days like the late 60's & early 70's. A bunch of Nine Flags, all of which she likes. Some English Leather that is going to a friend (if he is still my friend after that stuff). And a couple other things that I have yet to open and take a wiff of. Over all a great day. Great shave and nice EDT from the past.

    Good Sunday to all...

Gillette Tech w/Red Personna (second day)
    C&E BBB
    ARKO Lime Shave Cream
    Thayers Original w/aloe
GHT Extract of Limes Skin Food
GHT Extract of Limes Cologne (sample)

Second consecutive day with the Tech and Personna. I'm finding the shave slightly more irritating (aggressive?) than has been my experience with the 7 O'clock yellow blades. I'm not sure if this is a function of the razor or the blade and will have to use the Personna in my superspeeds and Merkur HD (or put a 7 O'clock yellow in the Tech) to make a fair comparison. The Arko generated good lather, enough for three passes (or four if needed) and the results were very acceptable.

    Regards,

    Nathan

  16. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    Brevete/ Crystal
    Dr Harris Marlborough SS
    Lucky Tiger AS
i Profumi di Firenze 'Ambra del Nepal' EdP

I can't remember the last time I shaved with a Crystal.......musta been way back when I started this 'hobby'. Today I wanted to try a milder blade than what I normally use, just to see how it performed in this Brevete thingy. Heh, it was interesting, but not bad.

I could feel the blade pulling more than I was used to, so there's that. It's odd to feel that again, having since long ago found other blades without that feature. The thing is, I didn't feel the actual blade on my face nearly as much as with the other blades I've tried in this razor. Yeah, it felt better in that respect, plus there was another bonus.

Turns out I could use this blade with a lot more security as far as being forgiving. Yeah, I knew there was much more room for error, and pushed the envelope more than if using a feather or Iridium for example. Hehe, I was even able to do a little diagonal slide along my jawline, which I never even tried with those other blades. It was pretty nice, much more relaxed of a shave. That made up for the slight pulling feeling.

Still ended up with an excellent shave, plus there's no tightness afterwards, which I'd been getting with those other blades. Yeah, it worked out well, and I'm glad I tried those blades.

I gave the Black 7 O'clock another chance. Doesn't work for me at all. Other than that, the shave was quite pleasant. :) I am going to try to do SoTD pictures this coming week. I hope...
