Friday, February 4th: Razor: Mergress Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simpson Douglas Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Yardley Soap (Thanks Diggity) A/S: Acqua Di Parma I have been on a vintage soap kick lately and received both the Yardly Black Label and the regular Yardly shave soaps this week. I used the regular Yardly today and was amazed at how vibrant the scent still is after nearly 40 years. I enjoyed an excellent shave and can see why this soap is sought after; it is nice stuff indeed. A splash of Acqua Di Parma Colonia and I am on my way.

Saturday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/7 O'Clock day 5 Tibet SC :love008 :love008 :freezing :freezing Nord-ost AS Balsam :love008 :love008 :freezing :freezing I had a very pleasant surprise from the Tibet cream which I bought yesterday--a STRONG menthol effect. The last time I had this stuff, there wasn't any, so the formulation apparently has been changed. It really is a fantastic cream, and from what I understand, it is used in barbershops in Bangladesh. The Nord-ost balsam added its own delightful cooling sensation, and gave my skin a perfect finish to a great shave.

Good morning And a beautiful morning it is here in Southern Ontario. The sun is shining and our local Groundhog has predicted an early spring Here is my SOTD Nice Hot shower Semogue 1520 Superior Boar Bristle Shaving Brush Ingrams Shave Cream New Lord Superior Stainless Blade New Sabi Heavyweight DE razor Cold rinse Osage Rub Splash...Hooooaaaaaa! Finished with Clubman AS First impressions of this new Sabi Heavyweight are favorable. Two passes with new blade produced a BBS shave. Review to follow after a few more shaves with this 4oz. monster.
Saturday Parker22R ever ready boar Lord Platinum D'lan s/c British Sterling a/s Today I made a scuttle using a stainless steel pet bowl inserted into a deep ceramic bowl. I used boiling water in the bowl and inserted the ss pet bowl inside, then whirled the cream. Had a difficult time getting the cream to stiffen, though. I can only guess that the heat made it more bubbly. Next time I will whip the lather first, then set in the bowl to keep warm. It felt GREAT when applying the lather! By far, the most comfortable shave I have experienced in a year and a half of DE shaving. The most satisfying was my first DE shave.
Saturday's Shave Uberlather:Arko Shave Stick/Arko Moist SC..:love008 :love008 Omega 10029 Baby-Pro Boar 1965 Gillette Adjustable @5/5/3 :love008 :love008 :love008 Perma-Sharp Super..:love008 :love008 :love008 Arko Nem mango-mandalina skin cream Arko Aqua AS Splash I was in the "using blades damn near as good but half the price" philosophy for close to all of this past year. But now having this Schick I2 with the Personna Injector blades has made me rethink my position on blades...Finding myself enjoying my DE shaves less and less I decided to pick-up a pack of my beloved Perma-Sharp Supers...These rascals are so sharp I decided to use them first in my Slim on the modest combination of #5/5/3... I'm going back to Perma-Sharp Supers as my regular go-to DE blade...Its the differance between just getting a good shave and getting a "Make Your Day" type shave, and in the face of the fact my Schick Injector consistantly gives me "Make you Day" type shaves, it's a "no brainer"...I'm now sporting a Two Pass BBS thats just as good as it gets...:happy108
Shave Of The Day - February 5th Long Hot Shower Rex Boar Brush Feats of Clay Scuttle Vintage Old Spice Soap Gillette 7 O'Clock Sterling Sharp Brand Blade ~ Day 2 Thayers Witch Hazel/Osage Rub Blend Aqua Velva Original Sport ~ :freezing :freezing Feeling lethargic and bleh today, seem to be coming down with whatever crud my wife has dragged into the house, so I was looking forward to a decent shave as a pick me up. Partial success at least, I did feel better for a short while, but it seems to be creeping back in. The vintage Old Spice soap makes fantastic, great smelling lather after all these years, a real shame it is no longer on the market. I was going to finish off with some Shulton produced Old Spice splash, but the green Aqua Velva caught my eye, and was a nice menthol finish. 4 blades
