Not much, but I believe more than my Vie Long had. Unlike the Vie Long, it has little to no scritch. It is soft, but it face lathers easily. I have enjoyed face lathering with the Tabac this week. Very nice shaving experience. It cleans up easily and dries out well before my next shave.

Thank you! I'm not sure about the razor. It changes colors, on one side it is more purple, on the other it is more green. I thought it looked cool and Maggard's razors are on the heavy side, and it shaves great!

Prep: Hot Shower/ Nivea Original Moisturizing Face Wash
    Pre-Shave: PAA Ice Pre-Shave Soap
Soap: Catie's Bubble Le Marche Du Rasage (LMR)
    Brush: Semogue Owner's Club Boar
Razor/ Blade: Merkur 37c/ Personna Lab Blue (1)
    Astringent: Alum
    Aftershave Balm: Nivea Sensitive
    Aftershave Splash: Italian Acqautico
Back from my road trip to NorCal for a few days and am now back down to SoCal. I did stop at the West Coast Shaving store on the way up. I will post a pic of what I got under the Haul section. Anyway, the shave today was great. I didn't shave for 3-4 days so had a good amount of growth. First time using the 37c slant razor and it had no learning curve. It was very easy to use and smooth to use. I got the same shave like I was shaving with an aggressive razor with a large blade gap, however the blade gap is pretty thin on the slant. For my skin, it means I can get a very close shave even with multiple days of growth, but I won't have the negative side effects of a large blade gap like nicks or cutting yourself. It worked great and I will definitely be testing it out more. I might try it two days in a row just to see what happens. The Catie's Bubbles soap worked well. Easy to load, slick and dense lather, and pretty good post shave. The LMR scent is a very unique aquatic scent that smells clean and fresh. Very nice scent. Nivea sensitive balm worked great like always and is very inexpensive. Used Italian Barber Acqautico which matched LMR and my face feels great. Good to be back!

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Rapira Stainless
    Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso White
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Decent results this morning, perhaps not as close as yesterday's shave. I really fought the urge to go with another pass for my neck but did not in the end, for time's sake as well as irritation. My recent experience is that one good pass with touch-up is sufficient for 24-hour beard growth.

I'm still working on pressure and could probably still back off. That's an everyday challenge it seems.

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!!

Only my second shave using this vintage Japanese FON Golden Star straight. What a magnificent razor! :love029:
13/16" wide with an über-keen edge, solidly-built, and just feels of quality when one shaves with it. Three pass, true BBS result.
Route 66 'Cavendish' lather and Fine 'Platinum' finish. Wonderful experience. :)
Have a great Hump day, all!

    SOTD :

    Old school shave

Gillette old type ball end single ring 1921-1928 short comb made in Canada
    With blade bank and case.

    Treet Classic Carbon Steel blade

    Tim's Old-school lime shave soap.

    Pinaud Clubman AS

    Tweezerman Boar brush

    Bull Dog AS Balm

    PAA Alum block

Wow, why have I not tried Carbon Steel blades before! This shave was as close and smooth as my SE Injector. I just spray a pump of alcohol on each side after rinsing to avoid rusting and it was perfect still when I checked on it 12 -14 hours later.
