    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Synergy Cavendish
Razor: Gillette Bar Handle NEW Short Comb
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 22mmx48mm
    Aftershave: Canoe

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle a bit for my beard)

I used my Gillette NEW SC again today. The NEW SC is a great razor and pairs well with the Gillette Silver Blue. I went with the Synergy Cavendish for my soap. Instant slick lather with a great scent. I finished up with Canoe.

I tried something new today. After washing my face with the Dove Men's Face Wash, I applied the Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap directly to my face. I had put the soap into an empty push-up deodorant container. It worked great. I wiped it on and then face lathered with the Frank Shaving Finest badger. I did two light passes and touch ups with the Merkur 37c slant for a near BBS. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and FD Old Spice AS. I'm feeling clean and refreshed.

    Tyr's Day:

    Prep: Hot compress
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow with clay and mango butter
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Aqua Velva Ice Blue

As close as yesterday's shave was, I figured two passes or less would be more than adequate this AM. I skipped the preshave lotion to see if I'd notice a difference in results without that extra step; it does seem to make a difference for me in feel, if not final result. I opted to bowl lather this morning to get a clearer impression of the lather's thickness, and was not disappointed by the quickly appearing peaks of meringue. Two passes got me nearly BBS, and the Aqua Velva combined with the menthol from the shave soap is considerably colder than the AV without a menthol precursor.

No photos today - sorry, but an outstanding shave. The Black Ice soap which I received yesterday delivered beautifully on the lather as well as the menthol effect. Its strong licorice scent eased up while I was lathering it up, and it's actually very pleasant. This soap also has excellent skincare. The Svoboda balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo are two absolute necessities for my aftershave rotation. ;) :D

    Tuesday:
    hot shower
    Homemade PSO
1930's Gillette TTO OC 2+ passes
    SuperMax Platinum (3)
    Omega boar
Proraso Red Sandalwood soap (sample) in a warm bowl
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    Florida Water AS

I've acquired so many razors recently that I can't figure out which one to use first but the vintage Gillette TTO OC was calling to me for some reason and I wasn't disappointed. This is probably a bit premature since I've only had one 2-pass shave with this razor but my initial impression is that it's more aggressive than many of my younger Gillettes and may be similar to my RedTip or one of the adjustables (set wide open) since I was able to get a very very good shave in just 2 passes. The only negative difference I noticed was this razor wasn't quite as smooth as the newer models but only by a fraction. I've also only used an open comb razor a handful of times so that may be part of the "feel" that I just need to get used to. Since my last shave with one I remember reading if you see comb marks through your lather it means you've got the angle wrong so that little tip was very helpful for today's shave. All in all, a great shave and I smell good too!

Face Lathering day five: Tabac Tuesday
Since I love Tabac, and it's Tuesday, I decided to try face lathering with it. In a word: wow.
After a very smooth and easy three pass DFS+, my face feels really great. I had not used my Tabac for a while, but shaves like this make me wonder why I use anything else. The monster loaded up almost instantly, and quickly whipped up enough luxurious lather for five passes. The brush still feels great on my face, and the TSD AS Milk pairs nicely with the classic Tabac scent. I topped it off with more Tabac! This time the EdT.
    Have a great day!

    Back to Work Day

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub; homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: H. J. Herskovitz 6/8
    Strop: Whipped Dog 3"
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Lather: Martin De Candre Fougere
Shave: Two passes, plus DE touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, alum block, 444 menthol balm

After 3 consecutive days of using (2)R41s, time to break out the straight!
I wound up with a very close shave, just as in previous days, but had to pay a bit more attention to what I was doing versus when I use a DE razor.
BTW: MdC is just a fantastic soap. Easy to get spoiled by it using the soap on consecutive days.
    Have a great Tuesday all!

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Voskhod (3)
Soap: Mike's Natural Peppermint and Rosemary
Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair 12705
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Old Spice

I had a very nice DFS+ shave this morning. I used the Vie Long for the first time in a couple of weeks and it did a fine job. It whips up a terrific lather and paints it on oh so softly.

    Have a great day!

Repeat of the same excellent combination from yesterday. Unfortunately, operator error lead to irritation and a weeper today. I was careless in the final pass and used too much pressure. Must never forget the fundamentals!

It looks like that open comb is a Gillette Sheraton. There is a nickel (?) plated TTO that is identical to it called the Senator.
