Just need to preface this shave that happened at around 1am. I work the night shift at a warehouse and get pretty dirty, so a shower and shave once I get home is pretty darn nice. I was determined that tonight was the night and I was going to get BBS, and shave my neck with minimal irritation. My last few shaves have not been stellar. While I don't condone handling sharp instruments while intoxicated, I did have a smallish night cap before my evening shave ritual. And as Walter from "The Big Lebowski" said "If you will it, it is no dream" ...or was it Theodor Herzl? Anyhow, I just had what I hope to be the first of many memorable shaves. I am guessing that as my technique improves, the shaves will only get better overall. I need to get some sleep. Have coursework to see, and coeds to attend to.
    Best Regards

    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4)

    Aftershave: Figaro

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle a bit for my beard)

4th shave with my Gillette NEW SC and the GSB. The Gillette NEW is a pleasure to shave with. I decided to use the last of my LASS T. Fougere sample today. What a great match up. The LASS gives an easy thick, slick lather, and the scent is great. I finished up with Figaro AS for a nice change of pace.

These Permasharp blades are really smooth and sharp, (thanks, Luke!) and they give fabulous, comfortable shaves. The Lord Emofresh cream from Egypt lathers like a maniac and smells beautiful and it gives a nice, although relatively mild menthol sensation which the Anherb conditioner and Aqua Velva beefs up. Today's shave was ultra-BBS. ;) :D

Hot shower with face washed in Matas face wash.
Gillette Tech "Fat Handle" '40s coupled with Viking's Sword (2).
    Speick Men grated soap stick.
    Vie-Long Butterscotch Edition horse brush.
    3 passes, growth adjusted.
    Alum.
Proraso Cutting Edge after shave balm.

Second shave with my British Fat Handle Tech. Must say it's a pleasant shaver. Quite different from the thinner head design of the aluminium handle version actually.

**This is for Offroad64 (Jeff) The Cherry Vanilla Sandalwood is nice. The three scents blend together nicely and from the first use there is no dominate scent. The scent strength is not over powering but somewhat mild I wish it were a little stronger. The Cherry Vanilla Sandalwood work great together but none of them dominate which in this case is a good thing but makes you wonder what it would be like if one of them did. Hope this helps.

    Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki
    Blade: Merkur (day 1)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, ATG)
    Post: cold water, 444

I wasn't too happy with yesterday's shave, so I changed it up slightly to see what went wrong, and I think it worked.

I let the Vie-Long soak in hotter water for longer, and was able to get a better lather from the Musgo Real. It still wasn't great (too wet) but was much better. I picked the Musgo as I wasn't too concerned about using to much cream, and it tends to lather thick for me.

With the lathering all but solved, I ended up with a three pass DFS! On to the post shave. I was going to grab the alum because of the ATG pass, but decided against it. A little dab of the 444, and my face starts to burn, but it's OK because my eyes are watering and should cool the burning right? Wow that is powerful stuff! I guess the ice mint yesterday kind of numbed my face to it. But if fades and I'm left with a mild scent and cool burn, I can handle this. And then I step out into the wind again....

    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Shave: Three passes, plus touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, alum block, Pre De Provence balm

My first complete shave with the 2013 model; a real pleasure—so much so I went for an ATG pass to seal the deal—a rarity.
BBS. No harshness to speak of—just a very close, 'straight razor-like' end result. I have not used the MWF in a while (been so busy with new soaps), and I almost forgot what a slick lather it produces. It does take a bit more effort, but the results are outstanding. :)
    Happy Thursday, everyone!

    Thursday:
    hot shower
    Taconic unscented PSO
Gillette New OC (short comb) 2+ passes
    Gillette Wilkinson (4)
    VDH badger
TOBS Mr Taylor cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    British Sterling cologne (sample)

Tried my recently acquired short comb New for the first time and enjoyed a very nice shave. Certainly milder than the Sheraton TTO I shaved with on Tuesday and definitely not a 2 pass razor for me. That being said I got away with using a fair amount of pressure thanks to the mildness of the razor and how well the Gillette Wilkinson works with my beard so I ended up with a smooth finish and no burn. Not a technique I'd recommend but I had a really good feel for what the blade was doing.
Gave the VDH badger another go but wrapped a couple rubber bands around the base of the knot and that helped tremendously with this brush's lack of backbone. It still stinks like heck so I have no idea what TOBS Mr Taylor smells like.
First go with British Sterling but the jury's still out.

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Voskhod (5)
    Soap: Stirling Orange Chill
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Cologne: Canoe

I got a very close shave today, but I can't say that it was comfortable. For some reason, I decided to see if I could get a fifth shave out of the Voskhod. It gave a surprisingly close shave, but that blade is worn out. I had to do more touch-up than usual with a fair amount of buffing. By the time I finished, the blade was so dull it felt like I was shaving with a putty knife. Still, a very close shave with no irritation, nicks, cuts, or weepers.

    Have a great day!
