    Face Lathering Convert
This was my seventh day of face lathering, and I think I'm going to stick with it. Perhaps my clumsy breaking of the lather bowl my wife got me is a blessing in disguise. I'm really liking how my face feels. I think my HIS synthetic brush is a big help, too. I don't know if I would or could face lather with the scratchy boars I own.
All told, this was an excellent DFS+ with no irritation or any discomfort at all. I'm writing this five hours after the shave and my face feels as smooth as it did then with no hint of stubble.
I've noticed recently that my left cheek usually feels smoother than my right. I wonder if the angle I use when shaving right handed is just different enough between the two cheeks to make the difference. I think I'll have to try switching hands to find out. Does anyone else switch hands with a DE? I know switching is the way to go with a SR.
Prep: warm face wash with Shea Moisture Three Butters
    Soap: HTGAM Gonfolier
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard MR10
    Blade: Gillette 7OC yellow
    AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

    Razor: MEM Super Silver
Blade: Vintage Gillette SuperSilver (4th day)
    Brush: Omega 80080
Soap: Palmira (with a bit of glycerin and lavender EO)
AS: Herbs of Bulgaria Lavender + Avon Balm

    WTG+XTG

These blades I've found on flea market seems to be great so far, sharp and smooth...

Back to Palmira after a lot of time, and it is nice, nothing leaves my skin so soft as Palmira soap and Viking sensitive cream do...

I really like DdC. Have you tried MdC? If so, are they alike?

I reply to your SOD believe on Monday with this....

Agree with you regarding Prairie Creations DdC in being slick, cushiony and for me post shave is nice and smooth. I have four versions of her DdC and Alpine Snowdrift being my favorite, followed by Ancient Sedona, Barbershop and Dragons Blood. All I have in heavy scent and they smell great. The heavy scent Dragons Blood irritates my face so I have stopped using it but I like the smell and overall shave is great. Like you definitely a keeper. I do have Mdc and DdC is not as good as Mdc overall though close in lather ability, post shave is neck and neck and for me edge for slickness is DdC. I purchased the 10-11 oz jars and at less than third the price (paid $20 vs $60) of MdC is a bargain buy in my viewpoint. Not everyone likes Ddc but not every soap is someone's cup of tea.

Already decided tomorrow will be DdC Ancient Sedona day.

WOW! What a shave. First time using HTGAM, it's everything as advertised! And some. Easy to lather, slick, great smelling. I could easily use HTGAM exclusively. The super speed came through as always. No irritation or nicks. DFS. image.jpg

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Proraso Blue Cream
    Razor: Maggard MR1
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (5)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 22mmx48mm
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

I pulled out my MR1 loaded with the Gillette Platinum for the GP’s 5th shave. I opted to use the Proraso Blue with it today. Great smooth close shave. I finished up with the always nice Proraso Green AS.

It was a very good shave with the Williams Mug Shaving Soap face lathering wonderfully with the Frank Shaving badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Merkur 37c and Bluebird blade left me near BBS. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and some FD Old Spice AS. Nice...

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot compress, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow, face lathered
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WRG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3) :scared001:
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS
Cologne: The Third Man by Caron

Knowing that I'd be switching back to the Bic blade, I didn't shave yesterday, as I find the Bic sharper and more challenging in the FaTip than the Bolzano. I also soaked the puck more thoroughly than I had previously, to give myself the opportunity for the richest lather I could generate. The extra stubble and thicker lather did the trick. . . and then I pressed my luck and chased the baby for the third pass. As evidenced by the number of weepers that sprouted - particularly along my upper lip - I chose. . . poorly. It is remarkable to me how light a touch the Bic/FaTip combination requires on that first day.

Thanks again so much to you my dear friend Ryan for this brilliant and precious soap - it's such a treasure! Yes, the MITA smells amazing and lathers like a champ, and it delivers a whopper of a menthol sensation with gentle and soothing skincare. The Svoboda balm and Floid Classic aftershave are two items which I highly recommend as well if you have sensitive skin because not only are they cooling, they're very protective against razor burn. Smooth as silk again. ;) :D

Have a great weekend, folks! :)
