Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

Today's shave has been the good occasion for testing one of the two new Mastro Livi shave brushes I bought yesterday and this time I opted the Wild Silver Badger Double Band and I must say I am very impressed by its performance. It has a lovely backbone and the right compromise between stiffness and softness on the skin. I also used Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, the straight razor Mastro Livi wanted to make in order to celebrate his 60 years of experience and daily commitment on the shaving and straight razor business. Grifetto is a straight razor I truly like, always giving a very pleasing and smooth shave, not to mention, very close.

Prep: Hot shower with Jackalope beer soap
    Blade: Astra SP
    Razor: Wet Shave Club 3-piece
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel splash, Fine American blend, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, ATG, touch-up

My second shave with MWF. Wow, that soap is fantastic! I thought the same on the first shave with it and this time only reinforced the notion. There is so much slickness and the post shave feel is really nice. The Astra blade worked really well. I used three spritzes of Fine American blend into the witch hazel in my palm to create a concoction that felt really nice.

Two passes with touch-up for a DFS! I am feeling smooth and pleased.

Hope you have a great Sunday!

The B&M soap is a small sample I received in a PIF. Not sure which scent, but it performs well being tallow based. Using the Vulfix in a small bowl it lathered well. I've been face lathering since I have used progressively larger boar brushes. So a smaller handle, knot, & loft are bringing me back to a bowl.
About the FatBoy - get you one before they disappear. It's my goto tool, DFS nearly every time with a Feather blade.
Oh, and The Veg. Because I'm Chosen.

Razor: Merkur 34c / Astra SP
Brush: black satin tip the purest
    Soap: blades grim smolder
PS: cold water and Nivea sensitive PSB

Had an awesome shave. Loving the astra. A note on the brush, if you start off too dry you won't be able to load up enough soap, I just had enough for two passes and a touch up. I think I tried to take a few too many passes at my chin and got a little irritation. But otherwise a great shave. Enjoy your Sunday everyone

I've been using that brush a lot this month. It works better for me if I bear down a little more while loading. I face lather and it has worked pretty well with more pressure as well. It's a soft brush to me. I like it though!

Agreed. I like the added weight and the King seems to glide now over my face. One pass shave with touch up under the chin.

My Schick G4 arrived yesterday, so I had to try it out this morning. I love the way it maneuvers over and around my old wrinkled scarred face. The handle is a marvel to behold, as if it were made to shave with, or hold a surgeon`s scalpel. I finally came close to a BBS, I think my technique on this particular razor will improve with practice. I`m neither impressed or disappointed, time will tell. I`m still using the cheapskate method (until at least most of it is gone), maybe with superior products, the outcome will more pleasing. BTW, it took 3 passes and a good clean-up. In the end, I came out with a more than satisfactory result. Happy Camper. Every thing in the cheapskate method was the same except the razor.

Happy days are here again....... just located my birth year Gillette tech. I just have to justify ( to myself and no other) having 2 Gillette techs. The one I have is my all time favorite. I will start my de blade test tomorrow, that should take 12 days. 2 blades, 1 personna blue and 1 red, 3 days on each edge. That is the current plan ( price comparison on blades only), cheapskate method. I will keep annoying you guys with a daily report.

Bill... i like cheap.. dog 2

I'm glad your razor arrived Bill. It should keep things interesting. The two new blades you are going to try have a good reputation, this should be fun. Enjoy @billdog2 :)
