    first time using a GEM, i really didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with a very smooth, effecient shave with zero irritation .. this GEM Junior will definitely have a spot in my regular rotation.
    Razor = GEM 1912 JUNIOR
    SOAP = DG TRISMEGISTUS

    Thank you for the prayers. He was very sick with stage 4 cancer, so honestly for the past month things were not looking very good. I believe he is in a better place now.

    Hi Guy, Nice photo. How is the Tatara working out now that you have had a few shaves with it? What do you think?

    ram57 Don't Open til Christmas

    Evening Steve. Finishing up this Weekend with 2 week run with Tatara and though it is a really nice razor, just one that is not for me. Excellent workmanship with the razor and included wooden box that can swing open without moving with a magnet on one side or you can just pop off the top. Tried GSB, Lada, Personna Red and will finish with Feather and all provided a smooth 2 pass shave and with all blades so far I can really feel the blade such as a I do with my Joris Palladium razor, '11 R41 razors. Feels that it could bite but hasn't done so yet. Just not comfortable with it such as I am with the Red Tip, Timeless .95 OC , '34 Gillette Aristocrat OC as examples. To me worth the money they are asking but a razor not for me.

    Thanks for the comments. I get what you are saying. She does look nice, but if it doesn't really add or improve upon what your favorites are, there is no point in adding one to the collection. You were fortunate to have been able to try without buying - trying different razors for me is half the fun.

    It has been a few weeks since I posted my shaves. Generally, I don't post if I don't take the time to take a picture.
    I have shaved almost every day, so have not posted at least 20 shaves.
    Got a great 2-pass BBS with touchups today. I had 2 days growth, and really enjoyed this shave.
    The VDH Brush is an excellent boar brush - fully broken in, not too soft, not too stiff - just classic boar goodness.
    The excellent lather from the soap provides wonderful cushion, is really thick, slick, and protective.
    I wish I could find a case of the Tri Coastal Design White Birch & Tobacco Shave Butter. I love this stuff.
    Hope your holidays were great and all your shaves were excellent shaves!

    Olive Oil soap and RSC Facial Scrub
    Vitos Preshave Cream
    De Vergulde Hand Soap
    Omega 10065 Boar Brush
    Feather AC SS in 'Scotch Wood' with a Feather SuperPro
    Alum Block and Rinse
    BBA PS Balm
    Benjamins Kananga Water

    Choice of soap today was due to the fact that we shall be dining this evening with the young lady from The Netherlands who restocked me with the VDH soap. It seemed to be appropriate!
    I have been using the AC fairly regularly for a number of years, but only recently can I say that I am fully confident in using it in 'Mission Critical' Shaves. Today.....with 2 passes and a touch up....I had a perfect BBS shave.
    I will probably spend the rest of the day rubbing my face:)

    Enjoy your weekend:)
