I would also guess the G-Bar. Don't know the Guiding Eye. The G-Bar is far better than the 1912 for me.

It was indeed the 1912, but it may not be a completely fair test as it came last, after the other two...they may have smoothed out the blade a bit. I'll know better when I use a new PTFE stainless blade next time.

    Wednesday Shave
    [IMG]
Razor: Apollo Mikron V-3 (on loan from @jmudrick )
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: JR 75
    Soap: Palmolive cream
    AS: Florida Water

Jeff was kind kind enough to loan me his 2 Apollo Mikrons V-2 and V-3. Mind you the V-3 was seized up tight. I offered to try and fix it. After soaking in liquid wrench and very carefully getting things freed. I was able to save this incredible razor.

I have had 3 previous shaves with the V-2. Today was the first go with the V-3. I used the same make of blade for all shaves. As previously noted the V-2 gave excellent results. If I have to compare to another Adjustable. It is obviously the Progress.

Today’s shave was to put it bluntly, spectacular. 3 pass no cleanup for a BBS shave. This actually is on par with my best wedge safety shaves.

The feel and balance between the V-2 and V-3 are very similar. The V-3 has a bit different sound. More muffled would how I would describe it. I am pretty sure they shave virtually the same. As I almost never use the same razor back to back, this shave most likely amounted to 4 shaves in a row with the same razor. Making the shave very familiar.

I really need to thank Jeff for letting me try these. I will definitely be looking for any Mikron to purchase that I can find for cheap. II am happy to have my Progress as it can deliver very comparable shaves.

6 on both razors all passes. Could dial back a few for finish passes for even better results. No razor burn using my aluminum block. So I could dial it up but absolutely no need.
