I think I may have rushed this shave , first time with razor too.
Little razor burn two tiny bleeds that stopped pretty quickly . Not sure if it felt right? I didn’t have a shower and not as hot water as I usually use .. I don’t think I’ll risk a cold one yet! Feels ok a couple of places I’ve missed ... I think I’m better leaving a shave for every other day maybe?
A different blade ? A nice shower beforehand
It’s all about experimenting I suppose?
I had a nice shave the other day with no preshower and that was fine
Overall not to bad but not my best

Thanks Clint...I mean I saw SOME creams in there but thought there'd be some soaps too.

 

i would use a light touch because of the heavy handle.its doing the work.ride the cap to start to find the sweet spot .take your time .it may take a couple for you to dial it in.i change my gillettes out daily for the most part,so if for example i go from an aristocrat to a tech ,the first few passes require a dial in before it feels right. just me though.i do tend to use one blade and transfer it to other razors until it fails..good luck .

What better way to start off a new year than with Williams Mug Shaving Soap. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #30 Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Schick Repeating Type C razor with a Schick Proline blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Used extra care today after coming off 'guard' type blades.

Last one of these blades dropped around 3 and was noticeably worse at 4. Since this blade sticks out further, I might see what a few laps on a strop brings.
