    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

    Razor - Gillette Heritage-Inspired
Blade - Gillette Platinum *4th Shave
Lather Brush - 20mm GBS Synthetic 3rd generation
Shave Soap - Dandy Shaving Co. - Cold Spice (Smells like a great Bay Rum Scent.)
    Deodorant - Herban Cowboy "Unscented"
Aftershave/Cologne - Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum

Going to use the Pinaud Virgina Island Bay Rum that has been in the new glass bottle for over a month now. No plastic smell now. I wish I got the juice out of those plastic bottles sooner.

    This week allowed completion of
The Shavette Showdown - Round 3
    Featuring
    - Feather DX folder w/ Feather Pro Super
It was a good shave for this setup, but not good to hold onto the top slot. There are 2 coatings finishing these blades, a platinum alloy and a resin. Theory suggests that these final coatings are responsible for the fierce cutting abilities and lack of longevity. The edge does not look bad under my magnification. Since the Supers have The most blade exposure of all AC type blades, I'll probably strop it like a true straight before this is over.
    - Focus R21 Evolution w/half a Feather DE blade. In the Feather vs Feather category, this blade now leads. My only dislike is the tendency to be toothy on shave 1.
    - Focus R28 Slim Al - Gillette Silver Blue brings up the rear. Just a consistent shaver this is. The extreme low weight does require the operator to control the cutting force. I can see that a negative for some. I pick this up regularly for quick shaves, something I had no foresight of ever happening.

The Blue Ming took his spot as master of suds.

From the Max Headroom List of Most Glorious Stanks, Tuscany was one of the flavors in the mix. The profile is: Tuscan Cypress fragrance oil, add in some Bergamot and Violet, and sprinkle with an array of spices. Marketed as a unisex scent The Stirling Clearance Sale notice indicated on hand stock would be the last of it. For me it is light, fresh and long lasting and does not threaten my man card. I did what any shave hobbyist lacking self control does, run out and buy up on the soap, aftershave, and EdT just before filling in another line on the 'No Buy' list on the refrigerator. Get it while you can.

The JR367 got called up from the bullpen. A beautifully tall and majestic piece with a hybrid knot that is a wee bit scritchy. I always wonder what ball player was lucky enough to have had the Louisville Slugger folks fashion a bat with the stub timber from my brush.

Also seen were the Symmetrical Pottery bowl and the Supply Single Edge w/Schick Proline all brought to you by those Emperors of Enablement and Brothers of the Bling.

Thanks brother. The Hiram is not a bad shaver at all. It’s smooth and comfortable and the handle gives it a distinctive advantage, which I prefer over its two predecessors (Occam’s & OREN razors). It still exhibits the feel during a shave that it’s nearly impossible to cut oneself though, if one really tried I guess with some serious effort it can be done. I gave myself a really good shave, DFS for sure and just a bit short in getting into BBS territory. Blade insertion and removal is the same and quite easy to perform. I will say that what it shares with the Original Cobra is mostly the handle even through it feels a bit wider than the original. It shaves nothing like the Iconic razor that the Cobra Classic is known for in terms of smoothness & efficiency. If you’re looking for the Hiram to be the Cobras replacement, you’d be better off acquiring the Enoch. If you’ve never experienced the first two iterations of the Occam’s SE’s, the Hiram would be a nice pick up and I would recommend it over those two as it offers a slightly better feel in hand which translates to a slight improvement in shave quality experience overall.

    Happy shaves amigo... :eatdrink047:

This is my last V1. I think I will put an order in soon and will need to get a V2. I’m not sure on ice or charcoal. I like the mentholated, so I may go ice just for something different and fun, but the truth is I think charcoal is probably equal to or slightly better for the face so why not keep it. Maybe just one of each lol.
