Today's shave is almost a photocopy, of yesterday's one to be ascribed to fragrance addiction!

Instead of a short Silvertip knot a standard Finest's one and, instead of a mild razor another mild razor, but with an extra gear.
Armed with a pseudoscratchy efficient Müster, it behaved with convinced determination.
For the second pass and the finishing I chose instead a green SOC, much milder.

As I was getting ready to shave, looking out of the window, I saw a foggy darkness broken by the gleam of the only streetlamp we have here (having two would make this lost plaga look like Ginza St.), which reminded me of the atmosphere of 'The Third Man'.
Could there be a more exciting sensation: Orson Welles sitting on a small armchair (for whose safety I would have feared, but... what the hell!) talking to me with his deep voice while I shaved?

The experience would have been well worth a fake Chippendale chair! (Yes, I know something similar has already been said and this is not plagiarism: this is a tribute to the Great Opportunist!).

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Vintage Life Morning TOST face lathered well with Jayaruh #30 Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Schick Repeating Type C razor with a Schick Proline blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

SOTD 2 January, 2020

First shave of the new year, and first since December 27, so I was asking a lot - but man alive, I must say that I've not said enough about the Fine Marvel razor I've had for a couple months. Six days of growth mown down practically in one pass with a 3rd shave Gillette Nacet. I seriously could have stopped after one pass and been completely work-ready. But, since I was working with this great razor/blade combination and Stirling's Texas on Fire, I knew I could proceed to go close. What an excellent shave today - I still marvel (pun intended) at the results I get with Stirling's soap and aftershave. If I had dry skin, perhaps I'd go for their balms, but their aftershaves really are excellent in the post-shave - my skin feels well cared for. A great shave to start the day on my return to the office. Happy New Year, all!

The Derby blade breezed through my rough stubble like a hot knife through butter and left me as smooth as silk in just two easy-peasy passes. Mo’s Frosty Bay Rum soap as always, performed perfectly with its most delightful scent, rich, slick lather, and its burst of menthol which felt so good. The Prep took great care of my postshave needs, and the Pinaud Bay Rum aftershave completed the job beautifully!
